    Over 70 driving rules

    Medical and eyesight required for 7-5 tonner and minibus. No problem if no history of serious problems. I had to have eyes tested at a DVLA approved optician. net result good enough for a light lorry (which I've never driven) but not for a minibus (which I have driven occasionally).

    About 6 years ago we set into 30 acres of very flat winter linseed at about 4pm. My so rang me and said "When you come with the trailer, bring the lifter too." We spent 1/2 an hour unwrapping the reel, put on the lifters and they picked up the linseed beautifully. Combine was still motoring off...

    8 bolt on tin panels on my old Senator, 1972 model. Changed them in an hour or so. Climbed in over the straw walkers. Mind that was about 49 years ago. I'm not so agile now.

    Is it cheaper to change tyres yourself?

    If need be we can mend punctures. Do all small wheels anyway, like drill. New tyres, local tyre company or take wheels to one of the specialists. No one has mentioned what they do with the old tyres. Silage pit, nettle patch, Nov 5th etc ? 15 years ago we had a clearout of Father-in-law's farm...

    Why not ask your local authority (environmental health), they're bound to know the answers (NOT). More importantly, how do you dispose of the carcase ? Alternatively I'm sure the Red Tractor inspector will know (some hope).

    you're very lucky if the electrics have only just started playing up. I think all the wiring was made by the same company that supplied the pigeon sh!t that they were painted with. I've replaces at least two Lucas "ignition" switches on our 1594 and the main connector where the loom goes through...
