    Kubota M8000 bits

I have a 9540. Clutch started slipping at 2500 hours. Sent to dealer who fixed. Had same problem as you a few months later. I changed filters and oil and been fine now 2000 hours later. I suspect part was dropped while changing clutch. The bits I found were smaller than yours and were part of a...

Why don't dealers get back to you?!

Got to say the keenest dealers i've dealt with were J E Rees in Llandysul. Good to deal with and will always get back to you with prices. Even though they are over an hour away from me, i'd rather visit them to buy equipment than some local dealers who can't be arsed to call back with prices. I...

Annoying neighbor that's not my neighbor! Newbie!

Someone posted on the Facebook group "celebrating smallholding" a similar thing, wonder if this is your neighbour.

How quick is your hay making?

Cut Wednesday, hoping to bale hay tomorrow afternoon/evening. Baled and wrapped the headlands today then turned the hay. Still the odd bit of green in it so will probably need turning twice tomorrow but we shall see.

    Slow New Tractor sales ?

I've been wanting to change my main tractor for the last few years, but there is nothing wrong with what I currently have. I would have to have finance to afford a new one, so have decided to stick with our current tractor and not have to worry about monthly payments. I am spending my money on...

    Open Farm Sunday

We visited two farms in Hereford shire. Both completely different but very enjoyable. First was a soft fruit farm in Harewood End, Mr and Mrs Snell. 450 acres mostly grown under polytunnel. Second was a small livestock farm called Dinedor End farm I think. This was a bit more fun for my ten...

    Mower blades.....

I usually just swap them around or fit new ones, but might try sharpening them. Times are hard.

    Direct drilling into grass

You could go over it with a flail mower really low. That would clean it off.

    Conditioners or not ?

I'm hoping to change from a conditioner mower to just a mower this year. I've got a Lely with the plastic conditioner times and they don't seem to do a lot to be honest. We usually ted most of the grass anyway. The biggest factor for me is cost. I simply can't afford the extra money for a...

    Stone wall style

Bottom step looks like it might snap with a few whacks from a sledgehammer.

    Stone wall style

Easier to just take a bit of wall down and remove top step and then rebuild wall I would have thought. Speak to neighbour first and see what situation is?

    Isuzu trooper replacement?

Yeah that's the one. I was a bit worried about the 2.4 engine lacking power but it's got plenty for towing. Just lacks torque at low rpm and is higher geared than a Trooper. Reverse is too fast for reversing with a trailer too.

    Isuzu trooper replacement?

I went from a Trooper to a 2017 Hilux and I love it. Not as torquey as the Trooper, but very handy having the big back to throw stuff in. I was reluctant to get a pickup because of the size, but now I'm used to it I love it and will be sticking with pickups.

    Heating for Farmhouse

We have the same boiler and it's been really good. The houses are warmer than they ever were with wood burners.

Creating a parcel for buying selling

We recently had a proper plan done which is suitable for the land registry and our solicitor used to split a piece of ground. We sent a rough sketch and paid £150+vat for the proper plan to be done. It probably took the guy about five minutes but satisfied land registry. I can send you his...

    Hay, Haylage, Silage

Hay is ok as long as you have a shed to store it in. Haylage and silage are usually better quality feeds (depending on the grass obviously). I usually try and make dry haylage for my suckler cows as I don't have a shed to store much hay and wet silage goes through them too quickly. If I had...

    Sisis Hydromain tractors

I'm looking at buying a 321d Sisis Hydromain tractor with a cab on. They seem like quite a rare tractor so I'm finding it difficult to find much information. Does anyone have any experience with these? It's got a four cylinder Kubota engine with just over 30hp so not too concerned about the...
