I suppose if you are loading a number of lorries out and a " haulier" phones up and says I'm coming for tomorrow's load later today you wouldn't question it! False documents and plates and it's gone! Need a bit of bare faced cheek though.
Worked on Plymouth Estates as a student near Ludlow as a student and they did a lot of trialling for McConnell. Definitely need a squeeze lift and a baler that bales 100% all day every day as any bust bales completely screw the system!
Fields that didn't get drilled though sprayed early Oct with Glyphosate in the hope, and thought to have relatively low BG levels, are now like lawns. Silver lining?
The farm's only water supply is via a 120 metre deep borehole, with a pump boosting the pressure via pressure cylinder up to 3 bar to supply house and various header tanks . For the first time in 20 years pump is turned off because groundwater pressure is more than adequate!
Been here nearly 60 years and never seen it so bad. Problem now is that river and ditch levels are at field level and water moving back up the drains and flooding the fields. Seed OK though - still in bags!
Bit different here - ground too hard and dry for anything to grow. Discs slide on top and tines bring huge lumps up.
Going by the forecast for the next week OSR might be given a miss this year.
OK it has rained but nothing like the biblical amounts we were told was coming - thunder and hail the size of golf balls and 1/2 months rain. All BBC hype!
5 oclock and sun finally makes an appearance. Probably would combine after damp day, but can't summon up the enthusiasm to be bothered. After tonight forecast looks good next week -hopefully!
