We have used it to replace rape. On heavy land rape is always a battle to get established so seemed a good option. It's usually sprayed for black grass so reasonably clean. The plan is to have it worked before we start harvesting wheat and then come back to it in October and drill with wheat...
We get the rsjs mitre cut when ordering them and then get all the purlin plates, bracing bits etc lazer cut. We have use ESP for lazer cutting. We use a mag drill for drilling thr rsjs.
We have had two of their kit buildings. They went together well. There was a long wait for the second so they sent the ground bolts first so we could put the foundations in all ready for when the steel turned up.
Thank you for your replies. It confirms what I had been told by defra and the farming advice service, that AB6 does count as a crop even though the land is on the Mid tier scheme. The problem I had is that the people I spoke to seemed unsure and were unwilling to give us anything in writing...
AB6 is in place until August.
We didn't drill any winter wheat due to the weather so we are looking at a large spring barley acreage as well as our temporary grass. We can get spring wheat seed but its costly and are considering just drilling spring barley if the AB6 counts as a crop as it...
I'm having trouble getting a definitive answer from rural payments and the farming advice service about the following and wondered if anyone can help.
We have mid tier AB6 extended over winter stubble and I wondered if it classes as a crop to help meet crop diversification (3 crop rule).

We had one, it was bought when it was 10 years old and had done over 4000 hours when it was sold a few years ago. In the time here it had 3 output shafts from the engine, as the splines wear out and the whole thing slips leaving you without drive. Break downs were usually bearing related. We...
I thought the RPA plans to faze out direct payments between 2021-2027

We lift the crush and slide them underneath and the made a bracket for the box to fit on the top of...
Belepi is good for late autumn drilling on blackgrass land because if it becomes to wet to drill at the end of Oct-Nov it can be sown in the spring. We have grown it in the spring and it does ok. It does mature early when sown in the Autumn compared to other winter wheats, but probably about...
We make our own buildings and get the universal beams miter cut from the supplier, these have always been spot on. Also get a company to lazer cut all the purlin brackets, base plates etc. Get some quotes and you will soon find out if its worthwhile doing it yourself. We have always found a...
I have a maplins one and it has been going for three years so far. I have it mounted on the gable end of the house so going up to change the transmitter batteries isn't so straight forward. However, the rain gauge is rubbish, it reads about a third of actual rainfall, i have replaced the rain...
