Started ploughing up a block of ground that’s been in grass/sting nettles for 50 years + going into barley, worried about winter 2024 straw price. Not a stone in site.
I will be paying the price for next 12 months, we maxed the overdraft brought in what organic grub we could and still ended up with plenty of ankle busting paddocks once they dry out. Always something to challenge you😂 let’s hope next winter in more gentle
Will be interesting what it makes, farm sale local one with a loader below 1000hours made £34k. Dealers not keen to fill their yards with not highly popular kit, also no big export demand for them.
It’s a cold farm, which conifer tree will just about grow on. To be honest it probably won’t many produce tonnes of beef or lamb, most of the animals there would be fed grub brought in from miles around. probably best to revert back to trees.
I don’t care what your agenda is or isn’t but the camera shows truly awful stock, everyone has a few non doers but they are clearly under shocking management. If those stock are managed by the people you name then they should hold their heads in shame.
