    Oldish Polaris 400

I have a 2013 Polaris 400. Only does 100 hours a year around out arable farm with a sprayer on the back or a slug applicator. Great little buggy and been very reliable this far albeit only about 850 hours or so on it. Might be changing it soon to go to a slightly bigger Canam which has a bit...

Strip till on a mixed farm with potatoes?

Kenny I have been looking at this option for a number of years and still not bought one. I had a Mzuri in on demo last year and thought it was a very well made drill and was happy enough with the job it did but last autumn was a doddle. Neil White is getting on well with his Mzuri and is on...

    Case Puma facelift

I’d heard similar but for now my 3 year old 165 cvx departed yesterday for its up grade. Should hopefully have a new model in 3 years when this gets changed. Some nice new updates on it from my last one

    Discovery sport

I have had a Discovery 3 x1 a Discovery 4 x3 and we now have 2 x Discovery 5’s and they get worked hard towing with an annual mileage of 30000 on mine and 20000 on my wife’s one. Nothing will Rich the new ones on performance and they are very comfortable. The Discovery Sport is where my loyalty...

    OSR trash management

Currently top stubbles about 10-12 days after harvest if it is required then I have a handy neighbour who has a 12 meter opico grass Harrow/weeder which I borrow in return for a few pints and a steak down the local. Harrow it a couple of times at different angles then leave a further couple of...

Horsch Terrano Ultra low disturbance Tines

I mirror what PSQ says as much as it pains me. I went to look at his and subsequently bought a set of full tungsten from APM. Do a great job and adds a further string to the bow of a dead simple cracking cultivator

    Case Puma CVX noise vibration

Does the vibration noise happen when steering the tractor quickly for instance when turning at the end of a bout to re enter work. I’m sure it will be the pipe under the cab which is a simple fix by your Case IH dealership

    Case Puma CVX noise vibration

From memory there is a hydraulic pipe running slow the cab front to back which is metal rather than rubber and it causes a noise. Certainly in my newer model 165CVX I had that issue and it was a recall and now perfect.

    Dutch openers, horsch sprinter

Just looking at both Dutch openers and Bourgault for my Sprinter 3ST Grain and Fert drill. Still to gather prices for Dutch but the Bourgalt are coming in at £48 for the opener bracket which attaches to the leg and £125 for the double shoot opener which I think is about 4-5inch but happy to...

John Deere 6155r dd or case puma 165cvx

Mine has a bar axle but the 185cvx I have just had on demo did not. My dealer said it is now an option to have fixed rims set to 72 should you never require to move them out, saves about £1000

John Deere 6155r dd or case puma 165cvx

The JD is not a bad tractor hence loyal following and our local dealer is very good however I found the 6155r numb to drive, felt it was over priced when specced like for like with the Case IH and at the price gap I’d have chosen the Fendt every time over the JD. This is personal preference. The...

John Deere 6155r dd or case puma 165cvx

Just about to start the process of pricing my 165cvx for a full spec 175cvx and I will also compare the 185cbx as on paper they are the same power but the 185 is slightly larger and heavier. Just had it in demo and was most impressed. Pricing a 720 as close as I can get spec for spec but I’m...

    Which self propelled sprayer?

https://www.clevelandsprayers.com/grimpeur-jr-series Turns out it only has a 2500 litre tank or 3000 litre tank

    Which self propelled sprayer?

As far as I’m aware on a Fendt you can do isobus through the screen. I have a Case IH Puma 165 CVX on my trailed sprayer. Simple isobus through the 10 inch screen plus camera on the rear and the Arag control is on a suction bracket on the side window. The control it’s self beat compared to most...

    Which self propelled sprayer?

I have watched a 36 meter Horsch trailed going where a friend is a farm manager in the central borders and they are on very steep ground with lots of humps and hollows. It’s simply fascinating to watch the boom technology in action hugging the contours of the land and the stability is also...

    Which self propelled sprayer?

Couldn’t agree more. My sprayer is 3200 litre trailed with isobus and section control and takes less than 5 mins to hitch up and drop off. Does 400 acres of combineables wheat/osr/wb plus liquid fert and a small amount of contract spraying. Tractor on 650/75/38 and 600s on the front. One...

    Which self propelled sprayer?

A few of the new Sands Horizon machines local and sat in a new Bateman 4000 litre with 36 meters which seem very well built and a fraction of the weight of an Agrifac plus about 60k less. Most of these machines are so well built these days I’d say it’s what you feel you get most bang for buck...
