Having been stitched up like a kipper by one of our own friendly, trustworthy UK farmers… I am now the proud owner of something broken: a 1949 MAP DR3
It has a broken cylinder liner. Obviously known about by the vendor… but we’ll skip that!
I need a new / used liner to mend it. Machining one...
Get it while it’s hot.

I’m looking for a drawbar trailer for my lorry. I’m on a 50mm Rockinger drawbar.
It needs to be pretty small - an 18 to 24 foot tandem is plenty, on the smallest wheels possible, as I’d like it to be low
A gross weight of 12 to 22 tonnes is fine.
TIA

Hello.
This is a long shot... but could anyone fetch me an old motorcycle from East Sussex back to Kirkby Lonsdale, South Cumbria?
It'll go in a pickup, cattle trailer... anything, really. It's just a damn long way for me to go to collect!
I'll try a few dedicated motorcycle movers, too...
I want to buy myself a Christmas present :)
As title, I would like some prices for a new pair of 5' (1500mm) long, 100mm wide 3000/3500KG rated pallet tines to suit the 16" backplate on my little Linde.
I'm not looking for links or suggestions, as I am quite capable of googling 'new pallet...
Electrician types - what is the plug for this strip light socket called?
I don’t really want to open each fluorescent light back up to hardwire a cable, as I have about a dozen to do and the cases are riveted shut. I just want to order a dozen of the appropriate plugs to suit the sockets, so...
Further to the other thread regarding laser eye surgery, I’d like to focus (pun intended) on corrective laser treatment for a mild astigmatism.
Has anyone had it done? What was it like, how was the recovery and most importantly, did it work?
My vision isn’t bad by any means... but the very...
I am literally in my hospital bed, right now.
I had my tonsils removed and one nostril quarterised at around 11.30AM.
Other than the odd cold and bout of SARS, Ebola and bird flu, tonsillitis is the only thing I ever get. It’ll hit me between 4 and 8 times per year - a real pest when I need...
I work on my own, so bleeding brakes is difficult to say the least.
I have a vacuum bleed kit for the workshop air compressor (like the one pictured below) and it's completely f**king useless.
Short of suckling on the brake bleed nipple myself, does anyone have a recommendation for a better...
As title, don’t go whizzing along the road with your guards tied up with some scruffy old length of baler twine - when the string snaps, you’ll hit something.
...just like some old boy did to my Sprinter, half an hour ago!
He had a ratty old bit of rope holding his mower side guard up but it...
Hello.
Please quote me for the following:
4 x 5m chains
80 grade ish
10mm ish
Binder hook one end, sling hook the other ideally... but whatever, or none - I can add those later.
4 x ratchet binders to suit the chains
The above specifications are flexible - if you have something broadly...
Does anyone run a tractor unit with a drawbar trailer?
I’m trying to think of ways to get a ‘proper’ weight hauler in to my yard. There are, really, only three ways:
1) A big, heck-off 6- or 8-wheeled rigid.
2) A short-ass artic trailer.
3) A tractor [unit] and trailer.
The first is a...
Being tight as a fish, I want to repair my existing ratchet strap ratchets rather than simply buy more new ones.
The short straps under the ratchet are wearing thin on several of my ratchets (I have had them 10+ years) and due to this wear, I no longer deem them safe for use when transporting...
I was waiting in stationary traffic and a car bumped me from behind. I have a big clevis-type towbar on, so the damage was minimal - the bumper beam is very slightly bent and the plastic is marked and not lining up perfectly.
It was entirely her fault and I even had the foresight, having been...
I still can't quite believe this.
18 weeks does not seem nearly enough time, either. What an utter barsteward.

I have some unusual loader brackets on a grab. I have seen similar, before, but can't for the life of me remember what they were for.
Does anyone know?
