My neighbour has got 50 acres of wet straw on the ground. I can't see him ever getting it dry, what would happen if I could do a deal to salvage it and bale/wrap the straw wet to feed later in the winter? What would it come out like and would it be palatable?

What is the cost per tonne for caustic treated straw? What are the benefits to justify the cost over putting untreated straw in with a mix and letting the wagon chop it. Main ones I guess are the ph buffering and consistant chop length.
