    Hedge definitions

Hi, BF11 and BF12. the website says these are old greening definitions no longer in use but it does not describe what they were. I am in the process of updating my hedgerow records so I need to know what how a half hedge is described (or used to be). Thanks

    Barn roof painting

My corrugated tin barns and sheds need painting desperately. They haven’t been done for quite a while. Who provides this service in the Three Shire area of Beds/Bucks/Northants?. There used to be a little chap that called on me every 4-5 years but I haven’t seen him for years

MF 590 rear lower window seal

As usual other tasks have taken precedence but I have removed the glass from the cab, placed it in a safe place and WD40'd the 5 fixing bolts...so we're on our way!

MF 590 rear lower window seal

My tractor is T Reg (1979?). What is black glazing sealant? Does it come in a tube or in metre strips?

    Chemical Price Tracker

I suspect you didn't but you may well have bought the same active on its own that does not have a wheat/barley label. Don't write anything down!!

MF 590 rear lower window seal

Hi, I need to re-fit the lower rear window (the smaller one of the two) on the 590 before it breaks rolling around in the cab. Does anyone have a link to the part number or replacement seal strip I need ? Many thanks

Opting out of NSF assurance whilst in Mid-Tier?

Well that's my answer then? Opt out until I return to cropping and take what comes. I sat on the same table at a rugby lunch with the CEO a few years ago...once he knew the rest of us were farmers he went off to talk to someone (anyone) else...before pudding, even!

Opting out of NSF assurance whilst in Mid-Tier?

Hi, I've gone 100% Mid-Tier since 1st Jan 2022. I forgot to cancel my NSF direct debit last September so I got billed for a year when I didn't actually need any grain passport stickers. However, I've been thinking...do I still actually need crop assurance even though I don't need the stickers...

    Sambron J24S

Mine still keeps going…just. I’ve spent too much time on it already to warrant anything major doing to it. There’s a chap just south of Northampton who relishes the challenge though. He will get mine when it eventually dies

    Hedging spirals

Thanks, but at 3 quid it would triple the cost of the job

    Hedging spirals

North Beds. Like an idiot, I totally forgot about guards . Now I find I need 1800 to finish the job. I do have the brown ones though and I’m hoping someone can tell me if these will be OK…or not. Thanks

    Hedging spirals

Thanks fellas. I’ll publish some photos tomorrow so we all know what we’re dealing with. At 50p each, to do what I need to do I’m going to have to spend 900 quid (~300m)!

    Hedging spirals

...urgent! I have run out of the clear spirals I'm using for my hedging whips. However I have loads of dark brown opaque ones. Will these do? They don't let any light in through the sides obviously but does this matter? Thanks

    Mid tier options question

Hello, need to know what to describe a whole field of AB1 and another whole field of AB8 as in my BPS claim. In the Land use code notes it says describe them both as per the crop in the field but in both cases they make up the entire field. Any ideas? Thanks

    Red Tractor Soil Health Audit

I had it listed to get rid/use up well before the label ran out (16.04.20) but as always...forgot. There's always something else that needs attending to.

    Red Tractor Soil Health Audit

Hi Just been pinged for non-conformance because I do not have a Soil Health audit or a Nitrogen Use Efficiency (plan?). However, I noticed that it's level is R (for Recommended only) and not ESSENTIAL. Also there is no deal-by date like there is with the other two non-conformances which are fair...
