Similar situation here, found 7 marker posts along a track and 1 in my field that goes to 5 properties. They are putting fibre cable in . Just by luck I caught an open reach van in our yard checking the fibre cable they had put in to the farm and cottages. Chatting to him he mentioned they were...
No definitely not. Its got the same pointless bulls**t box ticking questions. As I've said on here before all we need is the Food Standards Scotland inspection. Simple and easy and once every 5yr if your up to standard.
If everything is order they'll only visit once every 5 years. Makes a nonsense of red tractor and Sqc. They're checking the legal requirements, not the bull**it.
If you want farm assurance we have Food Standards Scotland up here. Now that is a walk in the park compared to Sqc/Qms. Half an hour of the relevant paperwork and tour round. No irrelevant bull**it. If they're happy they'll not be back for 5yr. Costs nothing too.
Not sure if she's still there or not, it's a while since I was last in there and it's usually been a big bloke with a beard and a pony tail! He looks a bit scary but is OK and knows the job
There's no reason the FSA can't be accepted now. The only reason there would be is that the cartel wouldn't be able to dictate the terms of it like they do now. As for brands what could be better than a union jack flag, or an English Scottish or Welsh flag. There's more chance of those being...
Read my post above! There is a scheme. It is the Food Standards Agency. We don't need anything else. They check we are doing everything legally. Just as they do with cafes and suchlike. There's no such thing as red cafe to allow them to trade.
We don't need another assurance scheme. We already have one in the form of Food Standards Scotland. We was inspected by them 12 months ago just 2 weeks after our sqc inspection and passed with flying colours. They wanted a look around and checked a minimal amount of paperwork. It took half an...
You'll have no chance of that. We've a crossing with 12ft gates and tried to get them widened them but got told there's no chance at all. They are trying to close as many gated crossings as they can for "safety reasons "
Used to farm next door to him before moving north. Some character he is!!! Known him all his life, always good for a laugh. Couldn't have had a better neighbour than his dad. Different man altogether.
We're thinking that solar panels will be the best way to go. Farmstream do a solar panel at 120 Watts but looks expensive compared to panels on net.
No it's not WiFi.
My partner bought a Farmstream camera powered by a 12 volt leisure battery. When she bought it she was told the camera would run 10/12 days on a charge. She can't get no more than 3 days despite numerous phone calls to Farmstream who have been helpful but still can't improve the duration so...
They seem very quiet on this. I'm sure they are one of the owners as well. Subs are due in new year so would be interested to find out their position on this. Might be better saving my hard earned cash.
No, we don't need another assurance scheme. As i have posted on another thread we already have one with far more clout than red tractor. Food Standards Scotland did their audit earlier this year, two weeks after we had our Sqc/Qms inspection. It took about half an hour with a look at grain...
We already have on farm monitoring in the form of Food Standards Scotland. That is the Scottish local council authority audit. They ask the necessary questions without the extra bullsh*t. . That should be more than adequate for anyone
