Chickens are in an old Ag building, with breezeblock walls to 5 foot and Yorkshire boarding above.
The section chooks are in now is approx 15x30 foot (one bay) with scope to double this if needed.
Shed has started...
Tried a small load of fodder beet last year, got ewes on with eating it and they got a taste but half of it went mushy and mouldy, I think the frost had gotten to it before I bought it (seller stood by me, so no problem)
Before I commit to 20 tons, what's best way of keeping/storing it, how...
I don't think anybody has asked yet this year 😅
Looking for a 2nd hand towing vehicle, current 12 plate ranger has crapped itself again, so I'm looking to upgrade.

Thinking of getting a load of fodder beet in to keep the lambing ewes going.
Ewes due 1st April, grass has pretty much buggered off.
Never had owt to do with fodder beet, how long will it keep in a heap on hard standing?
I'm assuming I'll have chop a few up to get ewes used to it?
It's got to...
Heard on the grapevine that scabivax is being discontinued, it's all we've used in the past, and it's worked well.
What other options do we have?
Heard about the dB buckets, but don't the ewes eat the newer buckets or something?
Does rocksalt actually work?
Looking at ordering some sheep bolus, tests show we're short on selenium and cobalt, the Mayo ones look good with 350mg of cobalt 100mg selenium, seen some others (g shepherd) at 1000mg cobalt and same selenium.
How much cobalt does a ewe need?
Got a feild that's trough I plumbed in last year, so I can water stock in it instead of running 2 feilds together.
It worked by turning the main feed into the tank off, then there's enough pressure to fill 2 IBC 's that then in turn feed the trough.
The tank feeds the 2 villages, and they got a...

Looking for a decent solar security camera, so can see when there's someone about at the farm.
We've no power or WiFi, so will need to be 4g with a sim card too.
Something I can log into an app on my phone to see what's going on would be great.
Any reccomenations?
I've got my small flock in lockdown in the end of a building that's mainly full of old stuff and things I might one day need 🤣
It's 15x25 foot and currently bedded up with straw. The area could be made to be twice as big if needed.
It's just an old harcore floor that's pretty much gone, it...

I'm really struggling to find flexmark cold crayons, had matemark in the past, they were rubbish (had to use 2 last year, they were awful compared to flexmark)
Unless there's another brand that's decent marking?
Hoping to spread a bit of fert with out old vicon wagtail, but the propshaft is way too short for my MF690 had a measure up and seen this on agriline, should be right length, it will it have the correct 3 spoked end to bolt onto the rubber?
It's not clear from the listing.
TIA...
Recently bought this second hand, seems to be doing a good job.
Replaced some bolts that were worn/loose holding the blades on, But still lost a blade somewhere 🤦♂️🤦♂️
I've googled but can't find where to buy new blades, anyone got any ideas?
We baled some 4 stringers last summer, looked good haylage, wrapped them with 6 layers and stacked them in the field. Contractors looked to do a good job baking and wrapping them, any tears I patched up from handling them (bale squeeze)
Been feeding housed in lamb ewes on them, at least half of...
Sick of "work socks" wearing through in no time, and sweaty feet.
Spend all of my time in Steelie dealer boots or wellies.

Just read as of the 14 were on national lockdown for bird flu.
My hens free range over 30 acres and roost/feed in an old caravan, they'll be very cramped if i lock them in there all day, but I'm unsure of what else to do, advice says to keep them from mixing with wild birds.
I've been looking for extensions for the ramp gates on a dp120 for a while now (the ones that hooknon the sides when not using them), only found a few and they're other end of the country, looking for a sheep deck divider gate too.
Anyone know where I could find them? All websites I find have...
