I think it was a thousand last year and up to two thousand this year and that's why it's all out door lambing. That's what I picked up from one of the recent videos.
If talking down prices actually had any effect on prices moving downwards then all we would have to do is talk them up. Of course nobody would be silly enough to believe that.
Nothing wrong with promoting our product, but there has to be some substance behind the statements that people can understand. If I say to you Irish lamb is even better than British lamb you'd want a pretty thorough explanation as to why, because on the face of it, it wouldn't make sense.
There needs to be some some logic behind statements to make them true though. Why would our lamb be "better " than say New Zealand lamb? They are the same species reared on pasture based systems where could the difference be coming from?
