Been thinking for a while they should be updating the grid to reflect the current price, they have now updated it but there doesn't seem to be much change.
If we take as an example beef at £3.40/kg a few years ago, the difference between R= and U+ was 20p, if we take that on to say £5.10/kg...
Getting a bit lazy here rather than look for it but has the latest round of options made it any more feasible for livestock farmers to enter SFI without cutting back on production?
The above energy company went bust a couple of years ago, I owed them a sum of money to settle the account, I was contacted by Barratt Smith Brown who said they had bought the debt, I wasn't entirely convinced about them but agreed to pay it off in 12 monthly instalments.
The last payment was...
What do we think is the best way to dry straw out whenever it stops raining? Haybob? rake? one half of the rake? low revs? tried different ways and none seem brilliant.
I've taken some land that has whole crop barley in an environmental scheme, I have dairy neighbours who would be interested so how do I sell it? by the acre, by the load? and what's it worth?
I've been hearing about a dairy farm that had an inspection, the inspector found around a dozen doors that in her opinion needed to be replaced/repaired and the job had to be done within 28 days. They said there was no chance they could meet that deadline, they have had a death in the family...
Anybody had any experience of these? What sort of carcase can you expect? There was a few in the weaners in Carlisle yesterday, they looked OK apart from a touch too much belly but I've never had them before.
I bought a 5 month old steer at auction three months ago, I've just realised he still has a stone, he's been with heifers and although I haven't seen him riding it's a concern.
Where do I stand?
Anybody have more info on Hogg buyers not wanting them clipped? Apparently they aren't clipping them till after the sale depending where they are going.
More bacteria on a clipped belly than a wooly one seemingly. That has always seemed obvious to me.
Apologies if it's been covered.
As per title, in the past applications had to be in by the end of April, I imagine this is no longer the case but would like clarification. I see it was open from 8th Feb but can't see an end date.
Sorry if it's on here already but after going round in circles on the DEFRA website I'm sick of...
Anybody know where to get fraser parts nowadays? Got an M7 with a broken small roller, it's probably a general roller rather than Fraser's own I imagine but I've lost the parts manual. Can anyone point me in the direction of someone who sells such things please?
Sure I've seen this commented on before but I can't find it on a search. When you have a TB test are you allowed to buy cattle before they are read 3 days later? And if so do you have to isolate them until after the readings are completed?
I read recently about some regulation that meant cattle had to be used before soya was planted, or was it the other way round? there was a name for it but can't remember. Anybody know what the rules are and the name of the regulation?
If there were no livestock to eat it? Are we so dependent on it now that as much would still be grown?
Would we save the planet as we are told? or would we grow even more to replace meat, cooking fat, etc.
I've seen this before but can't remember if they went on their own or needed a treatment, got two just now, anybody know what to do with them? Pen Strep?
This has been covered before with different opinions but after a couple of dry days the spring barley ground had dried off enough for the soil not to stick to the tyres so I put some fert on, had a dry 24 hours but a bit of rain since. A steady rain at times rather than a cloudburst but will the...
