    Well done AHDB

I don’t understand why you’re willing to take BRC’s word as gospel (vaguely worded as it is) but immediately dismiss the counter argument, made by @Levy Believer , that it did not happen that way?

    Well done AHDB

How does a board approve something without a vote?

    Well done AHDB

Sometimes I feel like I must be reading a different language to people who post like this. @Levy Believer has come on here and said "AHDB did not vote for this, and in fact have been vocally against it [in private]" I then read comment such as this, which say that AHDB has "acted in ignorance"...

    Well done AHDB

Hi Clive, only just seen this, sorry. Firstly, I think it's important to point out that, according to @Levy Believer , no one from AHDB supported GFC. So no one went over the head of the sector councils/acted without a mandate - at least not in a negative way. How do I feel about finding out...

    AHDB council "vote"

This point is actively being considered, you are right to be concerned.

    AHDB council "vote"

I can’t help but feel that this debate is a little bit moot. Yes, @Clive said above that he once applied, and was rejected without an interview. This does not sound like it was handled properly, and IMO boards/councils need diverse opinions. I once saw a poster that said “if we both agree all...

    AHDB council "vote"

The cloth has been cut, every year since the last levy increase. That’s a long time ago. IMO the levy increase is not about more of the same, it’s about more, full stop. I detailed my vision for it in the Twitter thread linked above.

    AHDB council "vote"

I should also say, I have worked with the other council memebrs up for another term, and would vote for them again, if I were allowed (cannot vote whwn you're on the ballot). I cannot say the same for the new memebrs, only because I've met them once briefly. However, I do trust Tom Clarke, who...

    AHDB council "vote"

worth asking what has happened to your email, might be a technical problem?

    AHDB council "vote"

I did suggest to @Feldspar that he should apply for the position earlier this year. I don't believe he or @Clive did apply, so can't really complain about not being involved. [Not that either of them are, to be very clear]

    AHDB council "vote"

I'd certainly be interested to hear why any of you would believe I'm a freeloader/NFU careerist/corporate shill, or anything else that would disqualify me from being a good representative on the AHDB Council? Just as a starter, for those not on Twitter, here's a thread I posted recently about...

    Sugar beet price 2024

I suspect what is happening is the NFU is telling them (correctly) that we won't grow at £37.50, and let BS take all the profit. BS don't like this, so are trying to cut out NFU and establish with growers that £37.50 is OK with them. I think this is in very bad faith.

    Sugar beet price 2024

This is a ridiculous email, and shows BS are in a bad place. It is definitely not NFU keeping us in the dark - this is not an announcement of a deal, it's BS trying to bypass NFU because they aren't getting their way. No way we should be accepting a lower price than last year when sugar prices...

    Moving fibreglass fertiliser tanks

Does anyone know a company who can move these tanks, in the 40-50m3 size range? We have had them from Yara before, but I don't know what hauliers they use. Also, ideally, they would be able to clean the tanks too?

    Extase potential problems

Yes, we had upright blackened ears too.

    Extase potential problems

This is correct. In addition to poor yields, it also didn’t flow properly in our drier, breaking three chains in ways I’ve never seen before. Will not be touching with a barge pole in future. Shame.

That’s new since I did it, probably 8 years ago

    The Red Tractor ACCS referendum

IIRC the only stipulation for Weetabix was that your farm office had to be within 50 miles of the Weetabix factory.
