    Any swallows yet?

Lumpy rain and the daff's are hardly out here. It'll be awhile before our cat harassing dive bombers are back.

    Starlink

I entered my postcode into the Scottish goverbents broadband grants scheme R100 and was told I'm in-eligible as my area was due for a fiber upgrade in 2026. So that could be almost 3 years and I'm last in the line from the village so doubt it will come to me without being charged 10's of...

Very dark discharge in ewe after birthing

She's possibly discharging some broken down retained afterbirth. It's not that uncommon but if you're concerned then 5 days of penicillin wouldn't go amiss.

    Milk Fever in ewes

I've really had to trawl the depths of my memory. Two doses and the ewe was okay. However one ewe somewhat later, maybe only 5 years ago was down (and maybe really too far gone or requiring different treatment ) and I mistakenly thought I could get her back to health had doses over 4 days and...

Leading vegan food co gone , Heather Mills this time lol

I'm glad, never liked the woman. After she tried to take half of P McC's wealth for being his bit of fluff for a couple of years and then moaned she couldn't afford business class travel with her kids after receiving 24 million it was difficult to muster any sympathy. We wandered along the...

    Sheep not inlamb.

Oh and one more thing. It doesn't matter what semen you buy, how much your ewes cost. If no-one knows your name or you are not in a clique with another breed and owed a favour or two you're gonna get minimum upset price at the breed sale. When I was star struck with Beltex I bought 4 embryos ...

    Sheep not inlamb.

I once sync'd 14 recip's. Only needed two. The remainder did not cycle again within 35 days. Although the ewes give no sign of being put up or down by sync-ing it seems that it can play havoc on subsequent ovulations. All the recip's lambed naturally the following season but it was a very costly...

Leasing vehicles and Private number plates?

I don't think personal plates are vulgar. I've got V12 TUP and wife has V12 EWE. Bought the two for under a grand and love parking them side by side when I meet the Mrs out somewhere. Folk have suggested together they might make a V12LAM but I suspect that's on a much more expensive, faster...

    Call out charges

Plumbing firm one town down charged a call out fee, mileage and an hour (minimum) travel before they started on a repair. £120 before they opened the van door on our drive 17 miles from their office. To be fair, they were consistently robbin' barstewards. They then proceeded to charge my...

Have some of that Chris Packham

@topground , I'm not taking that bet as Mr C has previous form...if it wasn't a publicity stunt.

Kurtis, Karen and Homeless, perfect Friday entertainment. I'm neither fitter nor machinist but I find their videos very watchable.

    July lambs possible?

@Ysgythan , like I said I've no idea, just chucking ideas out into the wind. I figured the increasing daylight rather than decreasing might be a factor but when I've sync'd ewes it has all been worked out by the vet and the science wasn't necessary for me to understand.

    July lambs possible?

You could ask your vet about Regulin and possibly sync'ing the ewes (and presumably the tups) to get the best of it. If it works summer for Christmas, would it work Feb' for summer. I really don't know but I'd ask my vet about it if I were you. They are the folk paid to know or to know who to ask.

@2wheels , I'm locked and loaded for the zombie apocalypse so a few misplaced rabble or badge waving numpties will just be target practice.

    Biblical weather

@stroller not all mankind is bothered. I live at 200m and on a lump above most of around me. If say 20% of the UK were to become unlivable and 40% of the population forced to look for higher ground then property would surely appreciate on the high ground. I'm fed up with neutral equity in my...

    Biblical weather

My wee bit of Aberdeenshire has had a bit of a gusty time and a bit of rain but nowhere ear the 8'' we promised. My wife put a bucket out to see what 8'' really looked like! Looks like I got away with that wee white lie...

    Climate myths

Too many folk with too much to lose now. If everyone who demanded anyone change anything in any regard from the status quo had to have skin in the game and repercussions even 30 years down the line came back to haunt them I think there would be a lot less pontificating pr--s around. If you...

    Climate myths

Apologies if the video below appears elsewhere, I'm not trudging through nine pages of folk insulting each other. And....yes, I admit if you search the internet you can always find someone who shares your viewpoint. If my post is repetitious admin can bung it in the fktbucket.

Someone's hard work gone down the river , there's loads of bales

@Pan mixer , trying to put a bit of happy spin on it I'm hoping it's like the Nile inundation and it will bring a heap of fertile silt down from the hills. But it never really works out the way I hope it does.

Someone's hard work gone down the river , there's loads of bales

When the smelly hits the fan it's difficult to see the sunshine tomorrow when the clouds are overhead today. Will they be insured, will it cover all the eventualities? There's a lot to prey on the mind. It gives me the willies thinking about it.
