    Hogg deaths

I feel your pain! The cost is extortionate!! I always wonder how many more lambs you would loose if no vaccination was given? I'm sure some years you would get away with it, I worry about the years you wouldn't

The vaccines are approx 80% effective. Not great when the conditions are perfect for pasteurella. I've lost big numbers before using ovivac p+. I'm just greatful they were vaccinated and losses were minimalised as much as possible

Totally agree, but the p+ part is a big problem on some farms

Surely the problem this year is the store lambs producers not vaccinating lambs. Neighbour tried brovaxin 10, double dosed, to keep costs down. After a lot of losses through pasteurella he double dosed with ovivac p+ as well

The wife, me and youngest son have just bought tickets for a 17 day whirlwind tour at the end of January 2023. I know many of...

Feeding whole peas to store lambs

Being in the desert of East Anglia with a lot of store lambs left to finish I find myself thinking outside the box. I've had mobs on stockfeed potatoes, hay and mollasses, waiting for anything to grow Anyhow, I've been offered a large area of failed vining peas which is so flat that they...

    Potential lamb forage?? Advice please

Depends on breeds. If you've got Suffolk's they'll be fine with buckwheat, they were bred to stop photosensitation. If you have white-faced sheep, different story
