    It comes down to your soil type picks your drill. 11 years hardcore DD and getting my soil chemistry right allows me to get away with using the rapid. I have the seedhawk as backup for new ground. I think that if soils turn to concrete, soils aren’t ready for a disc drill hence having two drill...

    No rtk. Good old marker arm. Two rows of seed discs and cultivation discs removed. Still have the Fertiliser discs on but they are raised. Winter project to put Fert next to seed.

    Seedhawk will mainly drill rape and beans. Rapid will drill cereals and peas. However depending on soil type the seedhawk will drill cereals. This will be the case on the share farm. As it’s only Had three years of DD. my experience with DD with a rapid Is only 50 acres. 10 acres of peas and 40...

    There’s a lot of difference between your drill/Claydon and the seedhawk. I move about 1.5”x1.5” of soil every 10”. I started of with a brand new Claydon thinking it was a DD. After two years it was pointed out that the reasons for my crop failures on the heavy land was due to moving too much...
