    Potato Ground

Again thanks for the replies. Quite a range but always is. Sub £200 I don’t feel it’s a goer tbh on the other hand I’ve heard talk of £400 which I feel is only good for one party and that’s not the way to build a long term relationship. How often can spuds be grown on the same land ?

It’s just the fact I have it in writing exactly what the deal was and now he wants £400 more and I don’t have a spare engine to have reconditioned and sell. Solicitor says not to pay which means he won’t release truck so have to pay solicitor and wait til either he realises he’s going to lose...

    Reconditioning an L200 Engine

Two of the quotes fitted new injectors as standard. I missed that in the detail Reason I ask is because as I say I know f all about engines but as some fit them as standard I thought I’d ask the question on here.

    St merryn.

Just a thought but if you want help and advice Terry Baylis who was the man who had the vision and foresight to start Farmers Ferry which morphed into Farmers Fresh would be worth a call. If ever a man deserved a Knighthood it’s that man. He had farmers interests in his heart from day one. I’d...

Silage / Straw / Hay Price Tracker

Surely that’s his prerogative. We all make mistakes we’ll i certainly do anyway. That straw doesn’t eat or drink a lot where it is he may in the end be proven right a year or even a month in farming is a long time.

    Getting your mojo back

It makes no difference to me what’s more or less profulitable than dairy. You seem to be struggling with the concept that there is life outside farming ! Luckily I’m now mid 40’s and good income isn’t on my list.

    Getting your mojo back

Dude I have no interest in helping you find a way to farm for profit. I am saying there’s things other than farming that are profitable many much more profitable than dairy farming. I’m no longer interested in profit. Making money becomes an obsession. I will for the rest of my life be...

    Getting your mojo back

I appreciate the apology but please don’t feel you owe one. I was wanting a post exactly like yours. You only put into print what a large percentage of farmers think and say when someone exits the industry. I absolutely agree I’m better off getting out that’s why I will be doing it.

    Getting your mojo back

Well I believe there’s a whole host of things that offer the potential to make more than dairy farming especially with the price drops we are looking at. In my case it’s not about making money I can do that dairy farming. So my “better off” will be maybe different to yours. I won’t need to work...

    Getting your mojo back

Please don’t be sorry. Tbh I only usualy reply to the posts that annoy me so you’re probably right in your view. I didn’t start posting on this subject from anger though but to be supportive because I knew what would come. I totaly disagree on your view of his “can’t cut it view though”. IMHO...

    Getting your mojo back

That’s the one I’ve been waiting for to prove my point. Thank you. “You just couldn’t cut it being a farmer” This is why people are afraid to give up and move on. Just because of nasty sneering comments like that. I will be out of farming other than a steering roll within the next two...

    Getting your mojo back

I’m now one of the other 10% I’m afraid. Used to be with the 90. I do come on TFF but none of the others. Never read a farming magazine anymore. I just Farm to help my kids and I’m well under 50. My head doesn’t go when a cow dies tbh I couldn’t care less any more. As for your last quote for 90%...
