Yes 4 cylinder 35 were know bad starters.
Cousin & her man had een , local mechanic fitted glowplugs to the engine ....started like a 135 totally transformed the tractor ..
What is their reasoning for you to have a solicitor? They gave you a quote to join to grid or is there fututre liability costs on your part that you don't know about ...me thinks your quote is missing a 0.
IMHO the reason fir a remap is to make engine run better (deleting one or all if the following egr,dpf,add blue) if you get a few extra ponies it's all win win & less fuel usage.. unless you want 30 or 40 % more horses...the remapper will know what's financially practical & what the engine will...
.I'm same as you age wise ....our school dinner back in the day ,eat it or starve ,no one had health issues like what plaques society today ...but most of us liked sports (got us out of classroom) we did walk 2 miles to school in summer term too ....
Gave your friend a slap...? Might be a reason pressure relief valve didn't work too much or too little oil pressure..strange that you had to retorque the head but sum engines from that era that was common .
