2024 may be a year of change for some but as discussed on many platforms is tree planting and putting land into stewardship the right way to be headed?
I monetary terms yes but as history has shown us in the past our island nation cannot rely on foreign food supply.

Anyone else noticed the high proportion of smaller livestock units on the market this last few weeks?
Seems to be a lot for sale in north and south wales some around 80-90 acres others larger.
Assuming they will go to lifestyle buyers and/or tree planting schemes to be lost forever.
After hearing on the radio the other day about John Prices sentence it got me thinking how have we got to a stage that a landowner has become public enemy in the eyes of the eco warrior village dweller type?

Today it was raining v heavy and for some reason I happened to think about flotation tyres for spring work.
Does any of us on here remember an article about flotation tyres in the FW or even Big Farm weekly about a chap that fitted very large flotation tyres to a ford 46?

Every bit of news seems to be about climate change or crisis politicians whinging about something constant crap about carbon and rewilding.
Governments lack of proper support and understanding of our reliance on a large amount of imported food.
Did the beginning of the Second World War not teach...
A subject that has been discussed regularly on here with the wildlife trusts and Gov buying up farms and parcels of land.
My take on it is this.
If they want to rewild a farm or some land then the only way to do it would be to remove every trace of mankind’s activity over hundreds of years...
