I think E A regs are in a different universe to what is actually happening on farms this year. Field heaps are "allowed" but all around my way, brown liquor is running out of gateways onto the roads!! Box muck has been turned to stodge by that stuff falling out the sky.

Well said....we should be allowed to get rid of dirty water all year round. We are producing food after all....not just polluting for the fun of it like many other industries/pastimes.
What about reed beds? Are they allowed? I saw a big write up about one somewhere and wondered if they were actually a goer. Us farmers perhaps ought to lobby for dirty water to be allowed to be spread year round in some situations. Would certainly help keep me farming!! Gov would possibly...
Just thinking if we all stuck together and said NO to them, then they could demand all they want. It's not as if they're not going to need our produce....rt or not.
I wonder if it would be worthwhile to start compiling lists of farmers in individual sectors that would all ditch rt on the same date should we not get the outcome we're looking for from the review!! Wouldn't hurt to have these lists ready to go should the need really arise. Probably best done...
I think rt needs a fair bit more than "backing up 20yrs" Olly. There is no sign of any change. Assurance needs taking out of rt hands....maybe farmer led? It should be proper basic and have a supportive rather than punitive attitude. No farmer should fear the inspections. Helpful visits might...
Jim Moseley will be reading this and realising we're not prepared/brave enough to mass resign.....shifting the balance of power more to his bullying favour.
Mass walkout is the answer....action, not words will have more effect. Would need time to organise.....flyers round the markets etc. June 1st?!! Don't know if many of my fellow dairy farmers would be brave enough!!
