    1st Winter Barley or a 2nd Wheat

    Following on from a first wheat, which of the above would generally be a better bet in an average year for yield, disease and economics to grow? Soil type is medium clay loam, fym in the rotation, and crop would be followed by a cover crop then maize. Thanks in advance.

    I've been approached by a dairy farmer to house his dry cows over winter, all I would do is provide the shed and water (borehole), and he would provide feed, bedding and labour and undertake all tasks. How much per head per week would be the going rate?

    What are the benefits of growing triticale?

    Arable novice here. What are the benefits of growing triticale in an arable rotation? Is it a breakcrop with wheat? How cheap is it to grow, and what yield would you expect from land that would normally do 3.5 tonne per acre wheat? Presumably combined, and the straw is of use too? Many thanks
