Went up to the polytunnel today and there were 8 little holes pecked across the ridge line, each by where the hoop is. Anyone else have problems with birds peackig holes??? Been up 18months now and never seen any birds on it. Put the repair tape on each hole to fix it.
just had some fields tested as nothing other than 20 10 10 been put on them in 20 years. The 4 grazing only fields came back as 5.5, but the 3 silage/hay fields came back at 4.5!!!! Does harvesting a field drop the ph more than just grazed it over time? We’re at 1000ft on heavy clay. Got 2 ton...
Just put up a 24x48. We ordered a green sheet with a white inside. It’s blends in really well to the surrounding, but is nice and light inside. Regarding manufacturer I think there isn’t much in them. Just make sure you have 60mm tubes for he hoops
Willl be tightening it up as soon as it gets hot. Needed it up now unfortunately else would have left til summer. Was blowing this morning and nothing moving so hopefully lasts through lambing.
Got the sheet on our polytunnel yesterday. Relitavly sunny/warm day for time of year and no wind. I’m just curious how people get it drum tight over the gables? We’ve got it nice and tight, but it’s far tighter over the hoops than it is on the gables. Mainly due to the fact you can slide the...
I’ve been moling for 20 years with all different sized moles. If flinty ground I’d put a pit every 15-20ft. If you use a 75mm mole you can tow through a 50mm solid duct by reversing it out of the hole, attaching it to the head with wire. Then just push your water pipe up that. No chance of...
The worst bit was the injection to numb the rubbish. Imagine the sensation of putting a needle into a tennis ball!!!!! And once you’ve come down off the ceiling they do it all over again for the other one
Don’t know how else to get rid of it. We can’t get a mobile dipper up to our farm as they are all lorry dippers locally with no chance of getting up to our farm. You need a 4x4 to get up to our place!!!! We costed up building our own tank, which is not a lot to be fair, it’s just the cost of...
I priced up removal of ship dip by our local waste management company. They came in at just over £500 for a 1000litres. Is that good compared to what others are paying? Obviously be a lot cheaper to dispose of ourselves on our own land.
That’s crazy. In the process of applying for a licence to spread dip, that would make it completely uneconomical. Our farm is inaccessible to mobile dippers as they are too big to get up our track. Is the price rise definitely happening?
Anyone know if there are any company’s that make a precast dipping tank. Looking for a rectangular one with exit ramp. Found plenty of plastic tanks, just wondering if anyone does concrete ones.
I was more concerned with the effect of jabing in the muscle as opposed to under the skin with regards the effectiveness of the drug. In doing a few hundred lambs, chances of getting an awkward one that's jumps about and you end up sticking in the muscle rather than under the skin is pretty...
