NUM3 - Legume Fallow, now rotational

Perhaps just a single cut in August would be a safer option, although you would have lost much of the nutritional value.

NUM3 - Legume Fallow, now rotational

Advice is a bit contradictory, the handbook says this: You must not do the following on the area of legume fallow once it’s established: • graze it with livestock – if you want to graze with livestock you may want to consider action SAM3 (herbal leys) instead • cut it, except to prevent...

NUM3 - Legume Fallow, now rotational

I'm trying to put a value on the forage NUM3 could produce. I'm thinking of autumn establishment, cut & bale in June and again August (to control grass weeds). As a budget figure I was thinking 6 t/ha and maybe £25p/t so £150p/ha output. I've very little knowledge of this crop so would like to...

I'm very happy with my Vanguard ISA but it's only funds and I quite fancy a few individual stocks. If I don't make any further contributions after 5th April can I leave it where it is and open a new isa for stocks? or better to open a trading account and just pay the tax?

    SAM2 followed by SAM3

This is what I plan do do with a March start date - unless someone tells me it's not allowed before then!

    AHL2 - Winter Bird Food

I'm much confident about achieving the aims of SAM2 followed by NUM3 than ALH2 / NUM3. But the fact I need to be "very careful with start dates", rather than being allowed them on the same land parcel for the same year does concern me. If this isn't isn't how they intend it to be used surely...

    AHL2 - Winter Bird Food

I like this idea as I share your concerns over establishment of AHL2. Agreement start date 1st March, Yr1 SAM2 established in august following WB, Yr2 SAM2 moves to its new location, add NUM3 to agreement to follow SAM2, back into wheat in autumn! Does this sound feasible?

Farmplan Cattle Manager about to become Herdwatch

Does anyone use this software benchmarking? I see Breedr offer it, is this useful? I've tried AHDB but find it a bit rubbish for livestock.

    AHL2 - Winter Bird Food

Has anyone run this past the advisors, surely too good to be true? August established SAM3 destroyed in spring and followed with AHL1 then wheat in September? I like the ALH2 followed by spring cover idea but we are too far north to have a realistic chance of winter seed from a late July/...
