Go over it with a strimmer then spray the cut off ends and any leaves left with Glyphosate. Worked for us.

Pity you didnt do the thermostat when you were down there, you'll have to take the fan off to get at it, its in the lower rad hose, unless you destroy the thermostat inside the nylon casing you cant run it without it

We bought a Merc B class, no spare, but a large tyre sized recess under boot mat. Good, we'll order a space saver wheel, 16" instead of 17, but it'll get us home.
