Yes it is, noise is at very front of engine so unlikely......hopefully when it is running again will check it but plan is to sort it when land work is done, pull off front cover for a start and keep pulling engine apart until we find problem.

Strangely enough i replaced the pump on my 6620 last week hoping it would improve the poor hydraulics on it..... sadly it didn't. Was gonna use the old pump on 6820 as quick fix but now thinking i will get new pump (rexroth but not from JD again) for it instead. Hoping to drill and tap...

I took the pump off last night and sure enough shaft broken... how do you get the broken bit out please ?? Does the charge pump need to come off? Took pump apart and one of the brass shells is broken up and bearing seized !!

My 6820 has just lost all hydraulic power.....no lift,spools,brakes or steering !!! I was out drilling and a strange noise came from the back end and then it lost all hydraulics just as i git to a wet spot !!!! Is this likely to be the drive (bevel) gears ???

A bit cooler today so rocker cover off, checked clearances and all good. So then i found a big screwdriver, listened to all under the bonnet........ top, bottom and sides of engine nice and quiet, but the back of the hpcr pump does sound noisy.
