I feel the AHDB "consultation" over the levy increase was a complete sham.
I was never asked if I approved of the levy increase, or given an opportunity to give any feedback on the proposed levy increase.
I remember being told a levy increase was being applied for, but that is not a...
Grain producers, please feed into the consultation for digital grain passports.
Their introduction is likely to disadvantage independent grain traders and result in further consolidation of the grain trade.
As growers we need greater diversity in the grain market not less.
It seem like growers...
Below is a copy of an email I sent to 2 email addresses at Red Tractor on the 12/12/23. I received no answer, so I chased Red Tractor for an answer at the beginning of this week. Still no response.
The Information Commissioner's Office (IOC) expect data requests to be handled within 1 calendar...
According to Farmers weekly Red Tractor are trying to bring in the Greener Farm Commitment (GFC) to help supermarkets meet commitment they have signed up to under the “WWF Basket” https://www.fwi.co.uk/business/shocking-cost-of-red-tractors-green-module-revealed

In the feeding trial that was drilled on Tuesday afternoon the farm standard variety Merit and the Blackmans have both just chitted, but the Watkins has developed noticeably faster already. The field has lots of surface trash, plenty of moisture and wasn’t rolled due to the forecast rain. I...
I had been using FarmWorks software, but they have been taken over by Trimble, which isn't an issue as such as most of my GPS equipment is Trimble. But now my installed version of Farmworks no longer works and Trimble in their wisdom have put all their software in "the Cloud" and I just don't...
My Slimers field got drilled today with RGT Goldfinch (upcoming BYDV and OBM resistant milling wheat) into an accidental clover and trefoil cover crop. Hopefully I’ll get the pre-em done on Sunday, then Clive Blacker can come and lay the Slug traps out. Lots of beetles roaming about which is...
I can't currently create my claim form online, I just get the error message below. Anyone else getting this or is it just me? I see the website will be down for maintenance this evening, maybe the RPA will sort it out then. I'll try again tomorrow and if still no joy I'll have to contact them😭

Could you please enlighten The Faming Forum why there has been no mention of the DEFRA consultation from you on this forum, or anywhere else?
I am sure you will be aware that question 15 askes about the future of the ability of levy payers to be able to...
I, and I would guess many others on here, would be able to sort out an oversized pig or 2. These are strange times, is it time to try and come together and set up something that saves needless waste and gives some money to pig produces?
I know it would likely be only a tiny fraction of the pork...
Looking to alter some sieves on our Turner No8 dressing machine and looking for some perforated metal with 4.5mm-5mm round holes preferably 2m x 1m wide so it can be single sheet/sieve. Anyone got any tips on suppliers for this sort of thing?
Alternatively anyone got some old sieves with...
Just had an email saying YAGRO have sold to Frontier. I've used YAGRO a lot for buying almost all my Ag chems, some Fert and a bit of fuel when in a hurry. Not sure how/if that side of it will work anymore, email says more about their data/pricing side of the business.
How long can Frontier...
Rutland showground seem to have made a big booking error….this from the NFU:
Please be aware of a large gathering in Rutland this weekend + ensure all vehicles/ valuables/ equipment are locked away out of sight + all gateways locked/ blocked + all CCTV switched on. EM NFU.
The main lift ram on our Merlo 32.6 is weeping quite a bit of oil and will need the seals changing before harvest. How hard a job would it be for a moderately competent with a set of spanners, but untrained farmer? Or would it be worth getting someone in to do it?
Many thanks, B'o'B
I need to move a sprayer skid unit from Rutland to near RAF Attlebridge near Norwich. It’s not running, so would need a winch to get it on. Weight about 3.25t. I’m hoping to get the spray pack off it and wheels changed by Friday.
Thanks.
I've been approached with a proposition to use one of our fields for a car park over the last weekend of September for a show promoting local businesses as pandemic recovery boost.
I'm not too keen on using the field they are asking for as I'm hoping to DD a 3rd wheat into it and can't see that...
Anyone using Tractor Guard window Protectors? How do you get on with them?
Looking at rear window protection for a tractor on a Batwing topper.
I'm undecided whether to just bodge something together with a bit of weld mesh and bits of metal cobbled together from offcuts I probably have...
