Yup…done all that. Even had a top firm of land agents and solicitors act as well as H&S executive input. Outcome is they refuse or we have to go to land court…hellish expensive.. and we will get charged for reconnection. That is for distribution, transmission is even worse. NFU don’t want to know.
So you have just agreed that the NFU can’t even get the wayleaves issue resolved. No one else gets to negotiate the rates with the companies…it is entirely within the remit of the NFU…wouldn’t surprise me if we have to pay the electricity companies to have the poles/pylons on our ground next...
No…but it will make cropping fields with distribution poles and pylons in them unviable for most root crops, certainly if you follow the instruction from the power companies and H&S along with the non existent support from the NFU. What is the NFUs position on the new Super pylon routes that are...
You are not listening…we get paid £32per pole….thanks to the NFU. Yes, it’s a sizeable farm and we crop neighbours too. It’s all important, but the actual dead loss around poles is a serious consideration….and NFU just give in.
Thats the point, there is no income stream from wayleaves, it is massive forgone turnover and massive increase in costs for certain crops. Try growing root crops with a three bed system and perhaps 50 passes per season…it soon mounts up….never mind the huge issues with working under power lines...
Ohl/poles. We get paid approx £32 per distribution pole. Not allowed to irrigate within 30 m each side. On transmission pylons that moves to 90m. Payment for a transmission pylon of 8m side is less than £400.00 iiirc. Our risk if we work underneath or between them. On bed root crops we are up to...
Quite easy to make the authority responsible aware. Red tractor, SQC.any other crop assurance in U.K.. …mention access to markets impossible without a fee, no competition in each country etc etc. if 2000 people replied to the NfU ”deep diving” non survey then this should be easy...
I am so sorry, it is a situation I wouldn’t wish on anyone. It is important to look after you, not easy I know. There is an organisation which you may not be aware of…al anon….it is the mirror group for people that live or have been affected by people that have a drink problem. When you are...
Just a heads up…Hannah Fry, a very engaging maths based broadcaster, has just been interviewed on radio four with regards cancer, a very humbling interview with excellent insight. I understand there is a documentary on BBC2 on Thursday evening. She also has a podcast. As a lapsed engineer with...
Sorry, that’s seven, seven, very close to me. His daughters are inconsolable, he has daughters I believe, they work in local government…used to it. Still very upsetting.
Essex lad is an unthinking twit…and that is being kind.
For twit…read twit…he can take that personally, from me and two dauaghters in Hong Kong that have lost a father prematurely….absolutely an ignorant twit.
ululately
I tried to understand his concerns, even read his dubious links to dodgy websites and his heavily cropped screenshots to graphs that show the “truth” he is just a silly twit that doesn’t have a clue. My friend in Hong Kong died…of the “cold”….what an uncaring twit the lad is….not a clue.
Much bigger problem in Hong Kong….not lessening the lockdown in Shanghai...it’s a matter of scale. If you wish to see if vaccines have had an effect, compare China, including HK, with U.K., vaccines used and uptake.
This might be helpful. There are two numbers…excess deaths and excess deaths with covid mentioned on death certificate.…one is part of the other. It then leads on to reduction in life expectancy for the last reporting period…a drop of 8 months after decades of an upward trend….something...
