Have you checked diesel is getting through? My Dexta lost power after a winter in the barn which was down to a blocked filter on the end of the tap under the fuel tank.

Not sure about multiple policy, but I do everything through NFU as they understand it all, are good payers if needed, and you get a local office rather than a call centre. My Dexta costs £40/year comprehensive.
