Woe there, not so fast. The push by all the companies is for very valuable data that farmers are more then willing to pay to give away, buy expensive new equipment, and technology. It provides opportunity for many new businesses to generate prescriptions, do mapping, consultations, Drone...
There was the comment earlier about the tech improving and costing more etc. Well, the tech really hasn't changed that much, We have a 20 year old Outback with RTK that is just as good as any RTK system today. Certainly it costs more today, there are subscriptions, maybe looks a little prettier...
Do you know the repeatability and accuracy specs for RangePoint and CentrePoint?
Found one, Rangepoint has 50 cm repeatability - kind of terrible, centerpoint ??
If you used opencv and did a Hough transform, you could define it to 3 shapes. Circle - the way to pick it up, square you would be 90 degrees off or ellipse you are at like a 45 degree. Then light/dark etc would not matter and only need a contrast
Do have distance and created path to marked flag which also has a direction associated with it. Not a huge leap to pick the path to the nearest flag mark. Can also auto steer to it.
This is an area that has intrigued me. You wouldn't necessarily need 2 systems, but would require 2 inputs and required math. Most systems that compute required wheel angle for guidance would be highly compatible - like AgOpenGPS. Using computer vision (CV) all you are looking for is how far off...
Interesting little bit of programming today. Been thinking about this for a bit, i know commercially unavailable - AFAIK. Real time overlap calculation. Gonna be very handy!
Sure is. The AB Line/curve is able to be moved so your first seed pass AB is 1/2 width from boundary. You can also flip the A and B points so you can make the line either way and you can still work right or left to be positive passes.
Based on the width of your sprayer the tramlines are generated based on settings provided, but utilize the AB Lines and AB Curves of the seeder for positioning. So while you are seeding, you can see where exactly they should be. The outer tram is just 1/2 the width of sprayer in. The outer edges...
What is the width of your seeder and your sprayer? You can independently have any width of sprayer and offset for the tramline. At least having a picture of the tram shows you what to turn on off. For example a 26m sprayer and a 2.76m seeder.
Here is the latest, tramlines displayed on how they will look when you are done seeding. Literally paint by number. Works with ABLines and AB Curve, as well as contour line generated by boundary for outside tram.
Awe thanks for posting the article, he has such a cool writing style. Been working on tramlines that are highlighted in the field - it will be awesome!
TC, you wait and see what ArduSimple is coming out with! It will blow your socks off!
Unfortunately there hasn't been any canbus work done as it is quite hard to get the PGN's for different machines. john Deere has gone so far as to put the steering behind a secret gateway completely preventing any third party access. We have the same deal in our 500 HD Case Steiger, looking to...
