Old muller tank here and basically if you don’t rinse the tank before putting the wash on ,because of high butterfats ,the fat congeales in the tank out let and doesn’t get washed out properly ,so every wash cycle throws fat all round the tank Rinsing tank has nothing to do with milk pump seals...

Bactos can moved up and found milk pump seal fecked and that’s not helped by tanker driver not rinsing tank before putting it to wash

So if each farm is staffed with inexperienced people there needs a policy change at the top Brothers boss runs multiple units and employs quite a lot of youngsters but there is always an experienced man at the top who is responsible for the whole unit.Who are these youngsters supposed to learn...

There’s huge costs coming for some dairy farmers round here with NVZ legislation and the lack of land and slurry storage 3,000,000 gallon lagoon just been built up the road ,don’t think there was any planning and it’s getting filled daily .500 cow herd I know of with max 3 weeks storage...

The trouble is it’s never enough so there always on the hunt for more land and pay a fortune to get it , and because they’ve took on more land they need more cows to pay for it . The wheel spins faster
