    New Holland CR9060

Don’t find ours too silly on the straw most of the time. Wider concave and push enough through is usually more than acceptable, as you say the tx can also smash it up at times. Bale all the cereal straw behind ours.

    New Holland CR9060

2007 9060 here, cut around 900 acres annually. Rate it very highly, good output from a fairly compact machine. Bit harder on the straw than our tx’s were but not terrible.

How to stop an air seat deciding how much air?

Yes that’s what ours was doing. Ended up fitting a new switch.

How to stop an air seat deciding how much air?

Was the switch in the armrest on one of ours that did the same. Very slow leak where the air pipe pushes in.

What goes wrong with Fendt vario box ?

Yes there is software that makes a big difference. Doesn’t fix it forever though so 2500 hours on from that and at 8000 hours we are now going to replace it.

What goes wrong with Fendt vario box ?

Relatively straightforward on long wheelbase from what I remember on our 235. Swb bit more involved, will be tackling the 210 shortly.

    Tx6* lateral float

We had one of ours playing up similarly a few years back. Sensor wasn’t reliably seeing the skid. Stuck some fairly shiny duck tape on the skid and was perfect afterwards.

    What is Isobus

Quite like the isobus on our machines that have it, tractor screen becomes baler screen etc, trouble is the tractor screen is no longer displaying tractor information, so really need a second isobus screen, so may as well just have a control box anyway.

    Varieties For 2023

Gleam here has once again been top performer. Had it on 2/3 of our area in both first and second cereal slot, averaged 3.95 tonnes/acre. Cranium ok at 3.5. Theodore very disappointing at 2t per acre. Luckily small area but disappointing after doing very well last year. Looks like mostly gleam again.

    3m cultivator

yes still have the Claydon and still use it for 50% of what we do. Seems to suit some situations better than others. On some of our soils the seedbed and finish behind it can be poor, as can seeding depth. Other places it works very well but we’ve never grown better crops than xpress/st bar...

    3m cultivator

I really like these machines, had one for a few years, sold it when we bought the Claydon, realised the Claydon isn’t everything we hoped it would be for us and regretted selling it ever since so just bought another one.

    Maxam tyres

Has anyone experience of Maxam tyres? Considering a set for our combine but not heard of them till now. Combine is 15 years old, looking to keep for another 5 seasons.

Vfr hedge cutters... Anyone with experience?

Got a Shelbourne 865vfrt here for nearly 5 years now. Been fairly reliable, and importantly they are amongst the best I’ve come across for backup and parts. It’s a nice machine to use. Not sure the head leaves quite as good a finish as our McConnell but as long as the flails are kept sharp it’s...

    New Holland propshaft bearing

Keep 🤞, our 2015 210 with loader from new failed last week 7800 hours. Does do a fair bit of road work.

    New Holland propshaft bearing

We’re thinking now if they get to 4000 hours we’ll change them before they fail on us and wreck everything else. Had 2 planned for this winter, till the 210 decided differently last week.

    Any Claydon users out there?

Two rows of harrows now instead of previous boards followed by harrows. Much better than boards on sticky soils. Kept going in the rain today where boards would have stopped us.

    Any Claydon users out there?

We’ve struggled a bit with the boards this season, not to the point of causing major problems but not quite the finish we’d like. going to try 2 rows of harrows instead. Our biggest issue is build up of soil stuck to them.
