We are having trouble with our Househam sprayer's Iveco engine. We ruled out dirty fuel and it had new injectors last year so something else is amiss. Normally operate it in field at about 1500 rpm but then suddenly it'll dip to 1000 rpm and then waver around and occasional return to normality...
Good or bad idea?! Land still pretty wet though walks ok on top, got a few failed ‘patches’ following Claydon or 750a in October. Use front tine to create a drainage slot and try and cover heavy seed rate with following harrow? Or best waiting till proper dry and use spring wheat? Any...
Just making arrangements for a new employee who will rent a 'farm' cottage. Currently teeing up the assured shorthold tenancy incorporating the appropriate 'form 9' etc. I understand that frequently businesses just charge the minimum £300 per year but what are the actual implications to the...
Randall Farms Ltd are recruiting for a Farm & Estates Operations Manager

Just hired a 1000cc Diesel Polaris Ranger and its used just 15 litres of diesel covering 80 ha of land at 12 metres. Should have recorded hours but i'd guess 8 hours actual work. Seems extremely frugal?
What are other people recording, was hoping to get a lively petrol UTV for our own longer...
We have a 2012 38.10 with 5,000 hours which has been great operationally, with perhaps slightly higher repairs than average. Considering best time to change and what to, with the Kramer seemingly giving a similar offering. Demo'd one, nice machine but poorer visibility. Would welcome any longer...
We have a tracker on our JD7530 and Tracker sporadically contact me saying it needs to be replaced "to keep it insurance valid". Is this something that needs doing regularly? We have a (machine) lifetime subscription but the shine's taken off when the hardware itself needs replacing! Anyone...
Thinking about our bean stubbles in particular which have a fairly weedy understory this year. Some of the weeds if left will set seed imminently (groundsel being our particular nemesis nowadays), but don't want to be too reliant on more than one pre-planting roundup.
Also - thinking about...
What do people find are the most durable slug pellets? Been using Sluxx for several years thinking they were very good all round but this year don't like how quickly they seem to be disappearing amongst the showers.......thanks.
I am looking for a product or a design idea for simply covering a wet grain hopper to keep the rain out. We had a forkliftable lid on our old 2t hopper but have moved to a forty tonne hopper so need to think again and something simpler would be preferable like e.g. a roll over sheet operated...
Got an opportunity for sludge I don't want to miss. Had planned the field block for spring beans; think i can legitimately spread sludge to bolster the autumn / winter cover crop ahead of those beans but will the sludge's latent N have a detrimental effect on the bean crop's success ref nodule...
Any suggestions where we can source a chain to replace the one pictured. Links are approx 94mm long, 50mm wide and 14mm thick. It’s for a Suire flail topper. Thanks
As title, please can i get recommendations for products which consistently spread well (other things being equal like sensible wind and spreader set up - obviously).
Thanks
Currently have 255 55 19 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac which are quite low profile and look squat. Any recommendation for something a bit taller (and maybe narrower) which'll look more appropriate in the wheel arch when i come to replace them?! Thanks
Might need some of the above this summer in the absence of sludge, any suggestions as to what can work well in terms of formulations and where to get them. Thinking N+P in particular. Also if you were applying 30kg/ha as a blanket rate what sort of reduction is worth considering when its placed...
Have been asked to look at a small patch of woodland which has recently been significantly thinned and opened up with prolific ivy and general undergrowth scraped off the woodland floor to leave 'bare' soil. Need to devise a plan to clean up any regrowth and try and establish some grass /...
I have been contacted by a company called the Business Action Group who suggest that energy companies have been giving illegal kick backs to brokers which have significantly inflated consumers' unit prices and can be claimed back. Anyone examined this successfully?
Looking for approx 80 Potato boxes (or similar). Will not be loaded but need to be uniform and tidy looking once in position as a structural barrier / partition / fence. Andrew 07967 742947
