Currently considering a 6m sprinter on dutch/metcalf etc, but also giving consideration to Sabre tine (new type 4 row prob front tank).
Anybody run both?
Would be used either as direct drill or on very lightly cultivated ground?
Sprinter would need full width packer for depth.
First year with Claydon. Currently running carrier shallow ahead of drill to disturb slugs. This what we do with Rapid also, feels like spent a lot on a drill for no big advantage!!
how do people control slugs in this scenario? I don’t want to start blanket applying pellets priori to drilling...
Does any body have or know of a cab tilting kit for an early non TMS 714/716. Ideally a kit I could buy but if not one I could get some cardboard templates made up and make a set?
So we have an '04 Quadrant. Its been a great baler over the last 6-7years we've had it. Hardly missed a beat until last season! For some reason it will break a flywheel shear bolt as the needles come to the top of there stroke. This means you've got to get a ratchet strap to pull the needles...
Could someone explain to me in simple terms how this is done? What specialist kit? I presume planter??? Can you then plant all headland without headland track? Saw a thread on Twitter running a few days ago saying a lot of ground is then un-planted but I did think if track was planted maybe not...
How practical is a 9SW in smaller fields of say 2-3ha? Currently running a rapid and conscious that forward speed will be a lot slower with sprinter so looking to increase width and 9m would work well with 36m tramlines? Its just you have to have a seed cart type drill which I think could be a...
Needing an extra loader for this summer. Always fancied a shovel as they are so much more over engineered than telehandler. Anyone any experience of a 414s with a Toe Tip. Currently have a TM310 with a 3.5 cube bucket which holds approx. 2.4T of wheat and fills a lorry in around 12-13 buckets. I...
Looking at a S/H nearly new digger. It’s a Chinese spec machine so not CE stamped. What are the legalities of using a machine that’s not UK spec? Can you get 3rd parties to CE stamp? If so what’s cost?
Looking for a yard run about and back up tractor to my two main machines. Would probably only do around 200-300hrs a year. Seen a couple of early 714/716s ranging from 8k-12k hours. Would I be mad? No dealer for over 3hrs is my biggest worry. Are the non TMS machines that bad?
Being that you can't get an 8s Vario I've been looking at an 8727. They look a big old lump but only 0.05cm longer wheelbase are they practicable as an all rounder or they a big tillage lump only! Main jobs be 3m Sumo, 5m Carrier, 5m Drill and 4000L 36m trailed sprayer in early spring before row...
There are a few single axle chaser bins around at sensible money. Looking at one for possibly drill filling and possibly weighing up using lorries for further away ground. Are the single axle ones unstable? The couple of seen seem around 15-16Ts
So I've brought a CO4 to work alongside my Rapid.
I've decided to go for either Dutch or Bourgault (I'm leaning towards Dutch).
But don't really know which point to go for.
So we are blackgrass free so not so worried about disturbance. The CO4 has a liquid fert kit on it so I want to utilise...
Can you get a RAM mount for ISOBUS joysticks? Its not the easiest thing to mount really as the base is so wide! The joystick will be moving between a MF 7726 and 6718 so anyone care to share pictures of your mounts that be great.
Possibly going to look at one soon to replace a CR960. CR is a great combine but Claas is an itch I need to scratch!!! Also want to go 9m cut so need tracks and I can’t find a narrow body CR on tracks! Got to be narrow body due to our roads or rather lack of them!!!!
What should I look out for...
Does anyone have a Massey 6170 fitted with a turbo kit that has exhaust coming out of bonnet? Going to turbo mine and just trying to work out how to route exhaust using existing hole in top of bonnet.
@masseybreaker @Massey mad @massey man
