This time it's waste crime which includes a review of some of the exemptions https://consult.defra.gov.uk/waste/crime-and-poor-performance-in-the-waste-sector/ there is also a section regarding farm exemptions which is worth a look for those with more than 8 exemptions...
Please, please, please thoroughly investigate any offers of free/cheap waste materials. All waste inputs should be covered with paperwork of some description. Deployments, if needed, take weeks, not days to be determined by the EA...
For my final OU project for my Honours degree I need some info for solar panels. Nothing complicated, I have the calculators to work all sorts out, just need PDF brochures. Any one know of any please?
Just a brief reminder.
Recycled gypsum currently only has two routes available for it's recovery to agricultural land;
a Low Risk Waste Activity http://www.nfuonline.com/assets/41932 This covers application rates below 1t/ha
For application rates above 1t/ha, the application of gypsum to...
Hopefully this should lead to less bureaucracy https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/578503/farm-regulators-charter.pdf and duplicated farm visits
Just found this, whilst looking for something else, https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/beef-and-dairy-farmers-apply-for-a-farming-ammonia-reduction-grant
You can apply for this grant to help pay for covers to existing slurry stores on dairy and beef farms in England.

Just received this e-mail;
Dear PLANET user
We have identified a significant problem with PLANET relating to the date of the computer clock, where this date is on or after 01/11/2016.
Do not open your farm files in your current version of PLANET.
If you do open your farm file in your current...
A real quick question, where are cereal prices compared to the last 30 - 40 years? Are they at historic lows? Bumping along the bottom?
Just need some justification for the EA.

To me he was a client, a contractor and a landlord, but above all else a very, very good friend. His...
As Obama has said that if we leave the EU we will be 5 - 10 years from a trade agreement, if this trade agreement is TTIP, then is that delay necessarily a bad thing?
Will we be forced in to agreeing to TTIP in 5 - 10 years in order to do any trade with either the US or the EU?
So his reason for us to leave the EU is so that we have more money to spend on the NHS (since when has a Tory government spent more on the NHS, local councils etc?) and we would be able to support third world agriculture which lead to cheaper food in Britain world...... Does he know we have...
During a recent conversation with a food waste AD operator, they had carried out analyses of the digestate as it was produced at the plant and the same stuff as it come out of store. They used an Agros meter and also sent the samples to NRM to verify the results.
The results were quite...
I have my own firm opinion that it isn't.
Can anyone think of a case when straw would be classed as waste? By waste, I mean the Govt. definition, in that it is 'discarded' by the farmer?
Would you class as chopping and incorporating as discarding? (I assume not, due to the P and K and OM returns)
Having been a member for the forum for a while now, I must say I find it a huge font of knowledge.
My work is currently ranging from poultry unit permitting to trying to achieve End of Waste status on three different materials. I was agriculturally trained (LCAH Riseholme early 80's) but after...
