Dumb question I know.
I have a set of short discs and I notice that the outside discs on the left and right have depth adjustment. Other than altering the depth what else will adjusting them do to the finish?

So before I go chopping stuff up.....Is this the holes for attaching brackets and such like on the middle pillar. They are a lot higher up than the manual infers.
Here is the rear point apparently there is a hole 120mm lower.

I've got a field that the cows have been out wintered on. I'd like to out winter on the field again.
So in the meantime if I planted rye would I get a crop worth mowing or am I better sticking to westerwolds or cheap Italian ryegrass blend.

I have a 2010 KV Exacta CL fert spreader with the Speed II control box.
Currently the control box has no power or seems to have no power.

Anybody run one of these (normal bonnet). Looking at one at the moment. Work will be varied, ploughing (4f dowedeswell auto reset), rear discharge spreader, fert spreading, loader work etc.

Anybody running one of the above (4cyl) or R equivalent? Lift capacity looks good and base weight is about 5.8t I think.

Looking for a bit of advice. I very lightly disced some barley stubbles in the latter part of Aug/early Sept. They have greened up nicely. The fields will be going into oats.
The question is do I spray off now and cultivate slightly deeper or just cultivate deeper. Or have I wasted my time...
I have a field that was planted with turnips in the spring which the cows have now finished. What could I plant in there now for winter feed as I fear forage will be low.

So what are the like if used on native cross suckler cows. Would they produce a good spring born calf for the suckler calve sales?
Also are they easily finished are a predominantly foraged based system?

We've recently acquired some land with buildings. There is a large shed with a 60ft deep mono pitch attached. I'd like to dig the floor down level or as near as possible to the outside level to allow for a 60ft long feed fence and trough to make better use of the space.

I'm thinking about getting a quote for a 15ft by 75ft slatted shed. Just wondering if that is a good size for young stock.
One of the main reasons I'm considering slatts is that I'm concerned about future availability of bedding materials.
