Does anyone know what should be fitted in this hole on the cover of the hydraulic pump ? Someone replaced the pump and seemed to have misplaced this? Bolt? Sender unit? Was filled with silicone but that didn't hold and is now pissing oil out when running

Went to look at an IH 785 tractor today. I have no experience on these unfortunately. Tractor won't move, if you put it in gear it seems like the clutch is slipping? It wants to move but doesn't. Do they all have the TA transmission? I looked but couldn't find a lever for it somewhere?

Apparently this one has the Ford 380 6 cylinder engine. Was thinking maybe 1124? Problem is I have to go from that one pic, as the tractor is a bit far from me right now.

Sold it a few years ago. Not because of any particular problems. Standard stick shift, unfortunately no synchros so gears grind if you don't get your revs right. Also dual power splitter in each gear. Clutch is a bit heavy yes

They are really scarce over here in South Africa. A few 2170s that I know of. No new ones sold anymore. Know of one 4000 series imported from the UK earlier this year

Could probably get you all the body parts you need for the MB Trac over here in South Africa. There are alot of them getting broken for parts after the gearbox goes. Minimal rust
