There is no point at all doing anything with Wagyu if you are selling commercial I agree!
Really only worth it if planning to sell from a farm shop for higher price - that is what I am planning to do.
The question is whether you can charge enough (and the meat is good enough above and...
I agree, not much point crossing with a wagyu if marbling doesnt come through.
I'm guessing you could keep crossing back to different bulls to get as close to pure as you could - but then they would loose all the benifits of cross breeds? - outdoor hardiness and size etc etc - am I correct...
Oh... thats a great insight but not what I wanted to hear! Haha
So would crossing with something lean like a highland help with 'over marbling' if thats a thing?
so what about a Devon or Hereford or Short horn? .. I guess the possibilities are endless.
But have to say for marketing direct for high quality I think the Angus is going to be the one. Its got the most well known name and trying to convince the public anything different is going to be tough
Ok, cheers
Angus was my obvious choice but I thought may not winter out that well? It also seems to have been done alot - I fancied something a but different to add market value.
So a Jersey will produce better meat you think? Whys is that? And what weight is a small carcass?
I was...
Evening- as title,

What breed would you cross with a Wagyu bull?
Ideally something that would winter out..
Thanks alot
