    livestock farm software

This thread was very useful for me when I was on the lookout for different livestock software after my existing programme was taken over by another company. I had a trial of Farm Matters and really liked using it so I'm now a paid up user! Neil is a great guy to speak to and will answer the...

jd 2256 combine no power to header clutch

Had that happen on ours many years ago . There was a blown fuse in a box located in the engine bay. It only ever did it once in the 15 years we had it.

    Duetool- fraud

I fell for their sales pitch twice , the first bundle of stuff was quite useful although very cheap and nasty. The second deal was based around some super duper drill bits, ( bigger sizes) . They were shite and got blunt almost immediately. When I got a follow up phone call I told the guy what...

    This Farming Life

I thought last night's episode was as good as ever. Stevie has got his work cut out if he's going to be milking buffalo at his derelict farm by August!!

    Cost of spraying

I do some contract spraying for a few neighbours, when the going is good and the weather is with you (which isn't very often) it can be a good earner. On the other hand with very early starts and late nights, when wind is lighter, and all the other reasons mentioned above it can seem like hard...

    BSE...

My heart sank when I heard it on the radio earlier today but I heard another clip saying last case found in Scotland was 2008 and last case in England was 2015. It made me wonder why this case has been so widely reported.

    drills

The big difference between a pronto and a rapid is, the rapid drills the seed before the wheels and the pronto drills it behind the wheels. I had the same thoughts as you 4 years ago and ended up with a 4m vaderstad spirit which is fairly similar to the pronto. It has done everything I hoped...

    drills

Is a vaderstad spirit not more comparable to a pronto dc rather than a rapid?? I would say 200hp is the minimum especially if on heavy land or slopes.

    Problem getting a Mchale c460 ?

    Which Plough

What makes the auto reset system better than other hydraulic set ups like lemken or overum (or whatever they're called these days)
  14. Q65

    Which Plough

Is your new 5 furrow auto reset? And do you know what the point to point clearance is. Good going for a 6620 to handle it! All the good things posted by folks on here have made me interested in Kuhn ploos. Anyone using a furrow press with one....... I do like my lemken press arm.
  15. Q65

    Which Plough

That's a good point and one I was going to ask about....... What do the letters at the beginning of model indicate? Am I right in thinking the first number is point to point distance then the next number if it's quoted is the headstock hp rating. I've only ever known lemkens on our farm , what...

    Which Plough

Sounds like the same place (y). Seems like kv ploughs are like JD tractors ...... people that run them seem to like them despite their relatively common faults. ( all my tractors are JD)

    Which Plough

How old was your plough / what sort of acres, before bits started to fall off!
  18. Q65

    Which Plough

How do you get on with the pacomat ? I haven't seen one working in real life, I wonder how they are when turning the plough on a steep endriggs. I pull a trailed press most of the time but moving it around can be a PIA.

    Which Plough

Is the kv no28 board the one to go for? Ploughing tractor is on 650 tyres and ploughing a wide variety of ground , from sandy gravelly loamy to very heavy clay. I've been told the 28s don't throw the heavy stuff over well enough. My current lemken is on the b25 which isn't great for wider tyres...

    Which Plough

That's a great endorsement of kvernland ploughs but then you read chae's experiences in the next post and it makes me wonder ..... I read a lot of good things about kuhn ploughs on here, but also comments about them being long and heavy. Also price of wearing metal is a consideration, Kuhn...
