He has close family yes , but as much as I hate to say it we all know what families can be like when there’s money involved, the farm will stay and with it my job, it’s just going to be a case of navigating things in the near future
Funny you mention option 2 as I have always kept a diary for work ( only really for my use) but I have been making notes, just little things like asked for fuel to be ordered just so I can prove when I have asked if it get forgotten about
I am not massively young than him myself but have a huge amount of respect for him as an employer and a farmer and it just feels almost disrespectful talking about it
To be honest I haven’t even tried to talk about the situation as it hasn’t been to much of a problem until a right balls up with some cattle paperwork, I know my job and home are safe in the long run ( I am very happy here) it’s just dealing with the here and now, I just don’t want my boss...
I would but I am worried how my boss would react as they would tell him I’ve spoken with them ( and if they didn’t it would not feel right asking them to keep secrets from him) he is a proud man and I wouldn’t want to offend him, but I can see he is exactly the same as my own father was when his...
I have a great job ( beef and sheep) with a great boss, very sadly over the past 18 months I can see a decline in his mental health ( after watching my own father go that way two years ago) it is just starting to impact my work as in things getting forgotten about, tagg numbers for cattle...
Not on any form of social media so I keep away from all the bullsh** . But I started out with 35 Shetland ewes on rented ground and over 10 years built up to 400 / 500 Welsh ewes whilst working as a free lance shepherd and shearer. It was great but as I got older I thought why! So I sold the lot...
Ah bugger, I’ve got a canopy of a 17 plate single cab you could have had until you got something better sorted, as said above n j aluminium are good but there is a fair waiting time for one

I think it’s a case of being happy with what you are on and changing it if not and the most important thing is don’t worry about what other people think. Just for a little perspective I have been a contract shepherd and shearer for 20 years also running 250 ewes of my own on rented ground, due...

Thank you, it’s the first time in a long time I have brought replacements in and it just reminds me how lucky I am to be able to breed my own replacements in my flock and know their true vet and med history. The worst thing is these are the other half’s and if I get these wrong I will be up sh**...
Thank you for your reply, they had a obivac when they arrived, I am just being a little bit jumpy with them as you can imagine what they cost this year!!! And to be fair they are some smart lambs and I just want to keep them going forward, would there be any point in giving them some albex as I...
Thank you for your reply, I will look into bimectin, I do try and keep away from injectable wormers/fluke drenches as they are drought in lambs I don’t know the history of them and I like to start at a lower level as it always gives me something else to go to if that doesn’t work??
