    Where's my invoice?

Yet another purchase from an established business where I have to chase for an invoice showing the VAT. Just send me the paperwork! If you don't I won't buy from you again, I'll go back to Amazon who make getting an invoice one click easy. This one is even worse than normal because I bought...

Trailer parking wanted for Goodwood this Sunday.

Goodwood features Mk1 Lotus Cortinas at this Sunday's (16th) member's meeting. I want to take mine (to display, not race!). I don't want to drive it all the way from home so want to trailer it and then drive the last bit to the circuit. Can anyone please offer me somewhere safe I can unload...

    Red diesel in hire plant

My local Eagle Plant are adamant that I must use only white diesel when I hire a digger, it's for solely agricultural work. I suppose it's their machine and they can do what they like, do others make the same restriction?

I looking for an hydraulic drive auger to fit to a trailer to use as a drill filler, I'm sure a previous thread mentioned a supplier but can't find it. Any suggestions please? Thanks

    Exmoor Hill Farming Network

Many of you will have seen posts by "exmoor Dave", these pictures are the real person behind the keyboard being presented with a rather fine landscape. He's retiring from this support network after 8 years effective work as chair. 3 very small children may have something to do with it! The lady...

    Manitou MB25P hydraulics not working

Need your advice please, it's been gradually getting worse until now it won't even lift it's own forks, oil level is good. Steering only just works, it feels notchy. It's quite ancient, 1980, and I think it's a Perkins engine on a IH skid unit. Thanks

    It's a generational thing.

Lad working here with slurry contractors jumped on our 135 to put it out of the way and couldn't work out how to start it! And there was I assuming everybody had learnt on one.

    The Anton Coaker blog

It's just up there, go and click on it, every week. This week it's vegans. Like most of you I instinctively understand the arguments but I can't express it in the clear way that Anton does. Many thanks to him.

    Tyre bead breaking tools

We've gradually got kitted out to do our own puncture repairs but haven't got any tools to break the bead while the wheel is still on the vehicle. At the moment we have to take the wheel off, lay it down and use the edge of the handler bucket. Hardly ideal. What tools are best for the job? It's...

    £39,724!

Phew. Or £13,735 deposit and £313/month for 3 years which equals £695/month, and then it's another £14,000 if you want to keep it. You can buy a whole garage of interesting cars for that!

    Lainchbury conveyors

I have an ancient Lainchbury chain and flight conveyor, I need to replace the wooden rail that supports the return leg of the chain. As far as I know there's no chance of getting one, unless anyone knows otherwise? I can make one but don't know if it needs to be any special wood to take the wear...

    Come into the garden

Today's Daily Telegraph has a leader article that discusses the decline in some common garden species such as hedgehog, reptiles, birds and amphibians. It's has sensible measured tone, it's introducing a series of articles discussing the subject over the next few weeks. I have written to the...

At last, the Hedgehogs are back!

I'm right in the middle of one of the original badger cull areas and had a large population of badgers, this is the first hedgehog I've seen for years, we've also seen snakes, I'll keep an eye out for ground nesting birds. There are still some badgers about, perhaps we are now back at a balance...

Advice about seals for an hydraulic motor.

I have a small Parker hydraulic motor that powers the transfer fan on my drill front hopper. A standard oil seal (17 x 30 x 7mm) on the output shaft keeps blowing, are there high pressure versions of these seals available? White House Products sent me a £70 high pressure seal kit but that didn't...

    How to price wheat?

I buy quite a tonnage of feed wheat and barley from neighbours. Pricing usually comes down to a good natured squabble on the day. I have a new potential supplier who wants to formalise price setting by reference to a single price information source. My question is; what should this source be...

    Which radio for tractor?

My MF 6400 has the bog standard Blaupunkt radio/CD, I want to replace it with one that will do Bluetooth music from an iphone and act as a hands free for the phone too, is that possible? I've just had a look online and am none the wiser, there's just too much choice to make sense of, what do...

Can I have my £10 please Glasshouse.

Do you remember this time last year we were discussing who would be the next PM? I've been waiting for the postman every day since last May, but it's been no good, no crisp Scottish £10 note has arrived. And I was hoping to buy some new shoes for the children. Do you want to make it double or...
