This is the first year for ages any cereals have had a dressing.
Last harvest I had some bunt in undressed wheat, it was my own fault as I'd simply pushed my luck to far. I should have got it tested but didn't.
Because of this, all winter wheat for this autumns drilling has come from bought in...

EFRA committee want to hear from farmers about experiences interacting with food processors, manufacturers and retailers.
I'm sure we've all got our own experiences and it would be good to let the powers that be...
Little later than normal but not by a lot.
I try every year for mid march. Last year drilling early bit me as I suffered badly with black leg which I reckon was because I had peri emerged beet sitting in cold wet ground being blasted by a horrible easterly.
There will be a lot of beet going in...
Not yet, still got some corn to drill on heavy land and only just got a wet spot on the last field to muck for beet.
Hopefully be near to drilling of not drilling by the end of the week.🤞

Thought I'd put this here, perhaps growers would like to share their experiences of dealing with BS with the EFRA committee.
Had a good go last week and I'm hoping the heavy stuff will go next week.
This week I've been rolling in last week's drilling as well as also getting a good chunk of the winter corns rolled too.
A couple of days drilling corn and would like to be onto the beet by the end of the week 🤞
Yep.
And that's what's so bloody stupid about this whole thing. Spread before the 1st April and it could sit there for a fortnight or more and it's perfectly legal, spread in April with a showery forecast that gets it washed in in a few hours and it's illegal.
You couldn't make this sh!t up, if...
I have a very good friend whose not RT and never had been and he's never had a problem going ride of his couple or 3 lorry loads of OSR!!!!
Usually within a quid or 2 of the proper stuff too!!!!
If they do audit it what will they actually do????
For any non conformance you have 28 days to submit corrective action. When I've had odd grain store temp records missing my corrective action is to say that from next harvest I'll keep relevant records so in the case of urea, if anyone gets...
It is!!! Ally max, mcpa, 3lt liquid mn plus a glug of cu and the same of zn and 5 kgs epsotop has been a staple on spring barley for years.
Have sometimes used 24D instead and thats juts the same.
I must say that having traveled from Barton mills to the north Norfolk coast in the last few days and up to west Norfolk just about everything looks very well.
There's a lot of unplanted ground but most of that will be either beet or AD maize or veg.
The whole area where crops look good is...
Good old quark the serviced agros wet dream!!!!!
There is far better and far cheaper multi nutrient "tonics" out there if you feel compelled to apply them.
I will agree, MN first to get the crop healthy as I've seen some really bad stress in the past from the use of these types of SUs.
The BMBH was scooping ours off the dirt in January and putting them straight over the side with tares of 4s and 5s ......of course a good bloke on the harvester makes all the difference!!!!
Yes harsher but aslong as the crop is in good health it's not a problem.
Don't know whether it's less efficient or if it's just the early cut off means late germinating oats slip through the net.🤷
Its by far the kindest of that type of chemical.
The adigor is now pre mixed with the axial because they cottoned on to the fact that because it was so expensive a lot of people were using cheaper generic alternatives.
