Same issue here but managed to relegate it to relatively small areas.
I have wintered on the lightest land and made a hell of a mess, but just drug the drill through it anyway, that was planting sorghum sudan as corn is a bit more sensitive to planting depth.
The paddocks that I’ve done...
Receiving income, and deciding what you want to do with it. Not what others have decided you should do with it, whether through obligation or otherwise
It’s state by state but most states would have some sort of law making hoof trimming, AI and preg checking essentially veterinary procedures that are only to be performed as a service by a vet.
Often the laws were made before these practices were even a thing or large animal vets were...
Farm I visited. This here is just for post spray. They were Running 2 for redundancy.
In that application they didn’t think robotics were advanced enough to run at 4.5-5 seconds per cow. Interesting concept nonetheless.
Great to have. These watch the calves for us. Haven’t lost a single one since we got them.
They do not train though, they do not herd. They sleep most the day and bark most the night. They don’t like shelters of any kind, just live out with the calves. Very friendly if they know you.

It’s not for everyone and I don’t know much about TB but that’s somewhat irrelevant if decision is already made that some are being...
Yes a tank that appears clean can still cause issue. To a keen eye it will not have the shine that it should with full chemical. We have thermodurics testing which is very sensitive but not bactoscan.

Keep a dedicated flashlight up on top somewhere and...
Sell the best, milk the rest? I know a few guys who repeatedly did this and made some real equity gains. Allowed land purchases etc. One even sold his best and bought back cheaper flawed cows.
My family also did this at one point. It cleared all the bills and then some. Definitely paid...
Put a slant on the barn and install a flush system. Automate it to your liking or just put manual valves in.
Less than ten minutes per day and almost no maintenance, low operating costs and spotless concrete
Same thing I always recommend. I get the 15 inch. They have all different kinds but I prefer these. I usually get 2 years. Worn pretty much every single day. I even pheasant hunt and fish in them.
I like that there is no shank in them and they are soft and flexible with really good grip...
