Quite.. it's fingers crossed on drainage. The drill does put a 5 inch slot under the bean but that could equally fill with water. We can't pull the drill at that depth as it is effectively an 18 leg subsoiler 10inchs deep so we will lift half the legs up and go on 12 inch rows

Pre em unlikely to be worthwhile unless soil is wetter than damp from drilling to black grass chitting, the umbrella effect make it less effective

We are growing it because it's takeall tolerant and with massive root system it's a natural subsoiler without having to get into catch cover crops.
