    Heptavac and footvax

Thought that might be the case. Il just give them one now and leave it a few weeks till the next. Better do the heptavac first otherwise you can be sure they’ll be a dead one next week

How long between the two jabs would people recommend? I know longer the better would be ideal, but would 24 hours be long...

    Lambs on turnips and hoppers

Broadly speaking, how much do people think lambs will eat per day from a hopper when they are on stubble turnips? when we have them inside I budget on 2kg a day. Would it be nearer 1kg on turnips? Lambs about quite framey, 40 kg approx Thanks

Turnover £550k. Problem is quite a bit of the profit is valuation increase and also a loan that we’d been paying off so not actually all cash. 1- true, tax is paid by the business….not out of my drawings. 2-yes, cottage, truck and council tax paid. Perfectly happy with my income from the...

    Family partnership - trapped!

How I interpret it, is that that percentage split is for the profits only, which I think is mainly to spread the tax liability as otherwise my father would be paying 40% tax.

    Family partnership - trapped!

What do year wear to market

Anybody still dress smart to sell their cattle at market? Mainly breeding cattle and runs of store cattle. Used to be a tradition and I know a few Scottish lads that put a tie on for store calf sale day. Seems to be more and more homeless looking sellers at market these days 😂….not that it...

Tmr feeder options with just one loader tractor

Yeah, contractors do pretty much all field work. All we’ve really got is fert spreader, topper, post knocker and stock box.

Tmr feeder options with just one loader tractor

Altered the sheds recently so we feed baled silage down barriers then throw rolls in the straw. So sheds are set up ready for tmr.
