Our Sensehub system has a later service window for sexed and so I would go sexed. Usually serve 24ish hours for sexed from when heat first observed/ she comes up on Sensehub.
We have had 2 confirmed cases within the past few years, never seen it before that. Miraculously both have survived and one has had 2 calves since. Ours only really lost their sight, they weren’t too bad otherwise (wouldn’t have let them suffer). Our neighbours sheep are often on our land 😡

Yes very useful. We can pick up ketosis early and treat which can prevent DA’s etc. Mastitis picked up early before you can physically see it. Any infections etc. obviously treating all of these early lead to a better outcome for the cow (and us!). You do get false alerts but we take temp/ check...

We use sensehub collars on both our heifers and cows, Autumn calving as well, can’t recommend it enough. Think it probably paid for itself in the first year, now in second year using it, used to rent nedap collars for the heifers before. Excellent for picking up any health problems very early...
Has anyone out slurry channels in lately? I’m waiting for prices from a couple of companies but slow to come.. either price of a section or price per ft laid would be useful..
