    3. All last years crop will be creating a micro climate for the new growth. When you have 6 or 7 inches of regrowth mob graze with 50 cattle to half an acre twice a day. All last years crop will be incorporated with the dung. No need for fert, and a good crop of hay this year.

    Nothing can be carbon neutral, I heard some labour politicians on the radio last week saying that if labour's gets in at the next election we will be carbon neutral by 2030. It's rubbish of the highest order, we won't we never will be. Not without going back to the stone age.

    Will do, though to be honest I have about given up expecting anything sensible from any official bodies. I try to concentrate on talking at schools and universities to get the message across. There are a surprising number of receptive youngsters out there when you get a chance to talk to them.

    Going to throw my hat into the ring now. I am mostly a lurker on here, but also a farmer, geologist and earth scientist. I have messaged channel 4, Ade adatapan and the BBC in the last two days pointing out the flawed science in their arguments for eating less beef. Unsurprisingly no replies so far.

    My grandfather ate fat bacon that he cured himself, Every morning he would slice some off the flitch, 4 or 5 inches wide with half an inch of meat in the middle. He died aged 96.

    We have had the same problem, lambs struck just 3 weeks after treatment, luckily got a good girl who spotted it and all caught without to much damage.

    Yes, cousins still falling out 35 years later. I'm still in agriculture as livestock manager on a large estate, and working with Swedens main agricultural university on cattle behavior and physiology. So had a good life and no regrets.
