2023 Pick up trucks - what's your fave and why?

I've just been and sat in one of these this morning - only thing I wasn't sure about was visibility as the bonnet seemed high vs seat position (I am a short ar$e) Only issue is they can only do an hour's, accompanied, test drive, am wondering what the delivery time is on them too. Loved the...

2023 Pick up trucks - what's your fave and why?

Am trying to make myself prefer the Izuzu D Max as its lighter and doesnt run the over 2040kg weight/ speed issue but it isn't stacking up to my 2019 L200 - sadly no longer available to the UK market. Anyone got a 2023 Ranger? Hilux? ETA are roller tops ever waterproof vs a full cab? Many thanks

    If the nfu are

The bit I dont get is where non members have a vote on anything? The structure according to a friend who is an x chair; members are elected at county meetings for roles on regional commodity boards. They elect their chair and those chairs form the national boards (Is this the commodity boards...

    What kills red clover?

It’s on land we do horse hay from and some is also grazed over winter - red clover is an endocrine disruptor and too high in protein, starch and potassium for equines. Basically sends their brains doolally and bodies into breakdown 🙄

Gaining access to a neighbours field for hedge management?

Gaining access to a neighbours field for hedge management?

Ours arent that deep, couple of feet? Its more that the height needs taming to allow it to thicken, before it gets too tall and falls over in a stiff wind and good bye privacy/ wind break/ habitat etc

Gaining access to a neighbours field for hedge management?

I am not remotely artistic but I hope the above makes sense - I thought the hedge went with the dyke? The power company have a once a year recce and hand saw anything long.... the whole hedge needs doing to stop it shooting up and let it thicken a bit imo. Wish I could afford to lay it but no...

Gaining access to a neighbours field for hedge management?

Hi folks, after some help please. I have a dyke in my field, hedge beyond it. The field beyond that is rented to horse owners, which change pretty frequently and the LO does nothing to maintain his land or his dykes, and doesnt ask his rentees to either. I have asked for access to trim the...

    Geronimo.

There have been people with cameras there every day since the last court case was lost. I think it is far more likely they were there until the bitter end to get the good shots. They wre deliberately obstructing when he was being herded to the pen. I feel for the DEFRA staff today - imagine...

I think this answers the 'idiot who pulled strings' part of the debacle....wherever Dyer/ Goldsmith are you can guarantee Carrie's fingers are twiddling too.

    Badger vaccination by farmers.

So what happens if farmers refuse to waste their time doing a 2/4 day course on how to stick a needle in a badgers backside AND were to refuse permission for 'lay' (sabs) vaccinators to come on your land and inject badgers there? There is no evidence the jab does anything to stop cattle getting...

    Heifer destroyed with Court Order

Someone needs to start a petition to ammend the Badger Act - narrow its scope to still prevent baiting with dogs but allow them to be controlled like foxes apart from that. Or a 6 week national cull window like Germany has. The finances alone should make sense to a few in Government if some MP's...

    Heifer destroyed with Court Order

Good job not everybody is a sheep otherwise there would a worse tb situation than there currently is - if that is even conceivable. The more people who join an area the cheaper it is for all and the more effective for all - shame some can only focus on themselves. What I find really frightening...

Contracted tendons in lambs legs - deficiencies?

Thankyou @le bon paysan - presumably this could also be addressed by forage/ soil analysis and redress? @Nithsdale Farmer They were a week old and showing no sign of improvement, instead both lambs were used to knuckling about and therefore no chance of retraining the limbs themselves. The...
