Only half a dozen or so this year. Numbers were down last year - probably 15-20 at the start of the season. In the past we have had 20-30 breeding pairs spread around the different buildings. Nothing has changed, farming wise.
Had an old ewe drop a single lamb last year with milk on only one side. Decided to keep her as she always has fab lambs but put her to the ram who had fathered more singles than twins last year. Guess what ? - she had triplets this year and had managed to feed them all with a little bottle...
Try googling Broadleaved weedkillers for knapsack use - e.g.

Haven't used Depitox so don't know if it would kill the bramble but it should take care of the nettles.
As a person who used to run my own gardening business, if I was faced with your situation...
A strong rake and plenty of tea and chocolate cake will clear most of that without chemicals (at least for a few months). Only spray once you have unearthed the shrubs otherwise you run the risk of killing them off. Also, are there any perennials under there somewhere?
Surely though you have to be asked to 'keep' the animals in order to be responsible for their welfare, otherwise I could put my animals on neighbouring land, neglect them and then blame the owner of the land?
Sugar beet shreds and molichop or chopped Alfalfa with her meal? The molichop is a good replacement for the grass she can't eat. A couple of good sized handfuls 2x daily would probably suffice and is more palatable than hay as it has the molasses on.
On the tooth front, are her back teeth all...
Yes, I had thought of that too, probably caused by E.coli.
Because my boss won't tag the lambs at, or soon after, birth we don't even really know who's lamb they were, only that they were twins - we spray letters (and numbers, for multiples) on both ewes and lambs, but they are pretty much...
In the lap of God it is now. Poor little beggar lasted until 11 O'clock this morning. He hadn't received any rehydration fluids at all. When he first came in and was standing I gave him some milk, more as a comforter than anything, but also in case he hadn't seen his mum for a few hours -...
Thank you. I have tried on several occasions during this lambing period (even offering to take lambs to the vet and paying for it myself) but my boss 'knows it all', claims to be an animal lover but won't have anything put to sleep or take an animal to the vets if he thinks the vet will suggest...
Hi, Thank you for replying. Its poop is brown with a touch of mid green and very liquidy. Boss gave no rehydration therapy at all but gave it another dose of the same LA Alamycin as yesterday. It was still alive at lunch time but had been paddling its legs. It also lies with its head right over...
Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I can't see how to start a new topic.
After waking up to 2 inches of snow last Thursday morning we had a very sick lamb (6-8 weeks old). Boss reckoned it was hypothermia, but surely a healthy lamb will keep up with the ewes, eat creep and/or hay? It was...
