OP, it looks like you have some good mechanical skills (motorbike engines from looking up your name on Facebook), so perhaps look at agri tech/mechanics route in, play to your strengths, get some experience. Hold off on the loans until you have a plan.
Solar PIR lights are surprisingly good for small areas like a gate - but they will still get nicked within moments?
I'd look at keeping the kit separate. If it's all wired together it's easy to follow the wires and remove it all.
Expendable solar PIR lights on the gate, two solar 3g/4g camera...
"Extenders" are usually bad - a proper mesh wifi system works far better.
For a plug & play solution where you can't run proper ethernet cables, look at the TP-Link Deco P9 - you can plug in several of these and they will mesh together over cables/wifi/powerline, whatever works best in your...
Does anyone have tips on which flannel shirts have a longer fit? I'm tall and even the Champion "Salisbury" flannel shirt (marketed as their longer one) is pretty short in the back...
This gov site purports to show the 2024 spending: https://research.senedd.wales/financial-scrutiny/welsh-government-draft-budget-2024-25/interactive-diagram-to-explore-the-2024-25-welsh-government-draft-budget/ but it looks rather different to your picture Banjo. Have you tried taking your...
Took some googling to find it, it's a Reist P96H landscaper tool, for soil really IMHO. Manual is here: https://www.reistindustries.com/files/manuals/current/Landscaper%2096H%20Operators%20Manual%20Serial%20S3070.pdf
Does that actually work on stony ground like a car park? It doesn't like...
If you have have loose gravel on the surface, then a box grader (with adjustable tines) to rip up the pothole areas and roughly shape/camber, followed by a "land plane" / "land grader" to keep it shaped.
Big in the USA, here is an example of a land plane...
USB-heated vests/gilets DO WORK - the tech is now ready. Amazing warmth, all day long.
Merino/wool base layers / thermals (Mountain Warehouse are surprisingly good).
Any links to recommended wool/flannel long-sleeve shirts?
Start-up loads on fridges/freezers can be 1kw each, so over-size it to allow for that. A laser printer in the office can also pull 1kw on start-up for a few seconds. Try to switch off non-essential circuits before changeover.
It's /possible/ but SMD is even harder than normal resistors. It's often very easy to damage over components by heat or ESD. But if you have a very good soldering iron and solder-sucker etc, it's possible.
A local electrical repair shop may be more experienced in doing it. They may also be...
I'd be wary - for a small saving in initial installation costs, you may come under the rules for provisions of power e.g. price capping at your expense; and Ofgem rules. Some examples: https://bigcleanswitch.org/news/energy-price-guarantee-for-renters/
Another viewpoint: I've had my DUC353 (14", tool-less tensioning) for nearly 6 years and it's great. Very convenient. Pros will want petrol, but for most users cordless is a winner IMHO. I see cordless chainsaws everywhere now.
I suspect it depends on the model, but these are the kinds of questions asked about EV cars 10 years ago... and no-one doubts these cars on the market today.
I am sure they have reverse (it's a 50p switch), and an electric motor can be as powerful as you want. Best to look at a few on the...
(I also thought a brush-cutter was a tougher hand-held strimmer, capable of taking a metal blade).
For keeping the edges of our fields in check (brambles etc) I use out Kubota compact with a verge/offset flail which can trim right to the edge of the field (as it sticks out sideways) and can...
IBCs in my experience have a standard fitting: S60x6 / S60*6. Easy to find adapters on ebay or specialists for common pipe sizes. I have several for small watering jobs going into 25mm MDPE.
But for big sprayer volumes, I'd agree with the others- use a big black tank.
The chem fixings are commonly used, just make sure you blow out any dust beforehand. (See Boston Big Dig for examples of why).
But personally I prefer normal mechanical bolts/shield anchors, seems easier.
